On PBW Bob said the injury and the surgery and recovery will probly keep Vic out for the whole year. Bummer. Looks like it's Cutler vs Wolf now.

could end up being 18 month... No way he'll topple a reigning champ Heath in 09... better to wait for the 2009 Olympia?

Victor should be off crutches by the time he walks on stage at the Arnold Classic, at the 20th anniversary reunion with all of the other winners. The question is if he can, after a 3 month or so recovery period, get back into contest shape for the Olympia, which he is qualified for.
I don't see why need, given that the Olympia is in September, which means he needs to prepare seriously for it around June. That gives him a 5 month recovery period, and he can train somewhat before then, albiet on on his leg.
Then again, taking a year off, and dominating next year might not be a bad idea. Phil Heath and his pictures show what can happen if you do that.

Folks, can we at least allow Phil Heath to get on stage before we start to assume that he is already dominating? The kid has yet to win the Ironman or the Arnold and everyone is making him out to be the next Mr. Olympia. This happened not too long ago with Phil. People posted pictures of him alone and started the Heath hype machine and then when he went on stage, he got OWNED by the big boys. I'm not saying he isn't impressive, but at least let him try his hand in an actual contest before everyone jumps on his wagon..

Exactly, this hype is so far fetched. Heath has NOT proven anything in a top tier show with top tier pros. Let's wait and see what happens before he gets a crown.

They did this last year too. We all heard about how much bigger Heath would be, how he'd win it easily. He got fifth.

How long is the recovery meant to last?? Even if he makes it, theres a good chance his quads could be well down in size due to missed training?
