The movie and the theories beyond the movie, I've watched every recorded documentary for and against on the subject. I find it a very fascinating subject. Clearly it goes much much deeper than the movie and I'm curious what people's opinion on the subject is? No I don't actually expect replies but I'm use to that with my posts ;D

You should read the books it's based on by Michael Baigent.
It's very interesting, i recommend his latest book, "The Jesus-Papers".

Of course the DaVinci code.

Great fiction
Bearable book IMO. But the movie is terrible.

Dan Brown is probably the worst author I have ever read. If he had "written" a book without such a controversial topic no self-respecting publisher would ever have touched it. Given his literary skills, Brown should be working in McDonalds not earning millions writing terrible fiction. I haven't seen the movie, but maybe the screen writer has polished the turd that is Brown's command of the English language.
As for the so-called historical facts that the book is based on, and the so-called "history" presented in "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", the fact that people believe and give these books any historical credibility is hilarious. Good history and credible history is not based on guesses or hoaxed "secret organisations" like the Priory of Sion.
It all just goes to prove the world loves a good conspiracy theory.

I've listened to him but haven't done the book yet. I look forward to it.

It's more of a historical mystery and a mystery doesn't have credibility since it's an unknown. I think people view it at an interesting line worthy of investigation. It's curiosity, not historical fact. There are many elements and related elements of great interest that have been revealed through investigating this, but I don't think people really read this book or get into the larger investigation with the immediate notion that it is fact.

There is no mystery. The Priory of Sion is a hoax. People fall for hoax, write book claiming it as fact. Dan Brown unleashes bad fiction on the world.
The problem is that many people do believe the whole Da Vinci Code theory, particularly as Brown has claimed the book is based on historically accurate facts, which clearly it is not. People are stupid and believe most of the rubbish they read, you only have to look at this site and see how many people believe we are being visited by little green men or believe that some Jew came to save the world or that they can gain 1000% more muscle just by drinking the waste from cheese production.

People always love a good conspiracy, a great secret society that has been existing for centuries, that seems very cool for most.
That's the same reason why so many believes that there is an hidden government or a hidden Jewish conspiracy ruling our world today.

guy, there is so much more to this than the priory of sion. As I've said, I've watched everything both for and against. Most people don't do that, I understand. Most people are bias from the start and stand their ground but I like all sides and actually have reviewed all the material on that hoax. Sorry but the rabbit hole goes deeper. And with the people who buy something based solely on a movie or fictional book? bah... who cares.... There are suckers everywhere, I fail to see why Christianity would get bent over it... unless they were banking on minds like this :-\

The perfect skeptics dumbing down of the theorist. They should put this in the dictionary. >:(

Intersting, I just noticed all of the lectures/documentaries investigating areas of the da Vinci code are gone from google. In 9 pages of full length works, all were debunking vids.

Haven't read the book, but didn't like the movie either. My expectations were pretty high because Ron Howard is a good director and Tom Hanks is an excellent actor. Very disappointed.

I really like Ron Howard, and he was even better as an actor in American Graffitti.

The movie was close to being good, it had fun elements to it, but seemed to be ruined by awkward character development. Like the English guy who made such an awkward transition to a nut, it wan't believable.
