Probably lack of good diet, intensity, and foremost, genetics. I never said you don't need good genetics/genetic response to drugs. That picture is just BRUTALLY FIERCE!!

That is truely awfull. I have seen natural guys just at the beach or playing basketball at the outdoor courts or jogging down the street w/ no shirt who have a more impressive physique.
I would be willing to bet Billy did SUPER high reps on everything and did TONS of LOW intensity cardio....

Where it all began working hard to show improvement within myself and body has long been my dream and desire.
For as long as I can remember, my dream to be the very best at something has always been part of my everyday life. Like many other kids growing up on Long Island, New York, my first goal, was to be successful and perform to the best of my ability at everything I do. This was a goal I spent many hours, days, nights, and weeks working hard to accomplish!!!
I can't remember exactly when I first picked up my first set of weights but it has always been a love that I knew I wanted to be part of. As time went on I would read all the latest issues of Muscle Magazines like Muscular Development looking for the latest info on supplements , diet, and training advice. I believe the year was 2002 and I walked into a local gym in Farmingdale, NY and ran into an old friend I grew up with Derek Anthony. He was just getting ready for a show and the guy lit a fire inside of me to want to transform myself into something he had become from years of dieting and training. At this point I was in the gym training hard but did not have the solid foundation I was lacking which I had come to find later on that the diet was everything!!!
It was now 2003 and I had just finished school and began my new career in the information technology field as a consultant. My job became demanding and training had begun taking a backseat to my career. I kind of lost touch with bodybuilding for some time and until the summer of 2005 I was unable to get focused back on training. Slowly but surely I started back to the gym after some down time. I believe it was summer of 2006 when I finally realized after seeing decent results on my own I needed to step it up to the next level and contact a nutrition expert to lay out my diet to maximize my results!!!
Here I was august 2006 and making a phone call to the one and only Dave Palumbo. I met with Dave after learning from Derek that his advice was solid and by far the best out there. Dave was very informative and open about every aspect of nutrition and supplementation with what works and what is pure garbage. We started my diet with the intention of just packing on SIZE!!! After 16 weeks with Dave my weight went from a tiny 210lbs. To a massive 248lbs. In only 4 months time eating clean and every 3 hours. It was now January 2007 and I went to sit down with Dave once again to work on a new diet to shed some unwanted weight gain in the off season and shred up for my first show. We set our sights on the 2007 Long Island Bodybuilding Championships. I dieted down a little more than we planned to 176 ¼ lbs. And lean as I could have ever imagined. After working on my posing with the master of it all Colette Nelson, I got up on stage and gave it all I had. I end the show placing 5th in the middleweight division.
Currently still working as a computer consultant and now as part of the Muscular Development team covering all the shows coast to coast. My sights for the future are set on the 2008 metropolitan in Tribeca, NY. I would like to thank Dave Palumbo, Colette Nelson, Derek Anthony, My Mother, and all my Friends and Family for all there support through the years as I continue to follow my dreams and achieve my goals in life.

drugs play a HUGE role in professional bodybuilding. but so do those professional bodybuilders response to drugs. not only do they have great genetics for bodybuilding, but they have great genetics for responding to anabolic compounds/hormones. both play an equal role in being successful.
