When cutting/leaning out do you folks still drink a night time shake?
-
I do. Its important to get some protein (preferably slow digesting) before bed. Even when cutting.

I always drink a casein shake before bed. Some guys set their alarm for like 4am and down another one, but I'm not that religious about it.

you are much better off with some whole food before bed...some bonelessskinless chicken breasts with a few pieces of broccoli/lettuce and a few caps of fish oil...if you are dieting really strict you could go with a can of tuna and after you ea it take a few capsules of psyllium.(its important to get in some fiber whenever your eating protein, it aids in digestion)..that way you eliminate the few grams of sat. fat in the chicken and you can skip the capsules of fish oil since the 1 or two grams of fat in tuna is omega 3. but you definitely need to eat before going to sleep.

20g Whey blend it with a tub of fat free cottage cheese and ice. Taste's like cheese cake. 40g protein , 8g carbs, 1g fat.

For sure!
Preserving lean tissue is the trick when dieting. Whole food is fine too just dont sleep 7-8 hours without some protein if trying to lose bodyfat. Always a must to have protein before bed in my opinion.
