Do you have a link so I can see it? If I did get a bum coin without that on it, I should have kept it.

"Faith can refer to a religion, or to belief in one or more deities."
that's what i'm referring to.

Well, considering that according to our Constitution the government should not be in the business of promoting religion, it really shouldn't be there in the first place; despite the fact that the courts have let it slide since the 1950's when "in god we trust" was first added to our money (it wasn't there for the first 150+ years or our republic).

Reality is that a drunk driver could smash into you head-on at 100mph and kill you and you're loved ones.
Faith is believing that you're fellow humans won't act so reckless.

To get the full concept of the word ‘faith”, you need to focus of the whole and not a segment of the idea. Yet, if you want to use “faith” to mean “worship” your logic is still flawed. To say, “Faith is for those who have given up on reality.” Is very closed-minded. Everybody worships someone or something. Whither it is a God, money, sex, etc. People still worship something its material or abstract.

The motto "in god we trust" was taken from the national anthem. It was on coins in 1864. Not yet mandatory tho.
