Title: Do any of your friends or family comment if they see you looking at guys..
Post by: TrueGrit on January 31, 2008, 08:02:40 PM
in trunks at your computer? Do you look at musclemen in internet cafes and libraries or is it something you do in the privacy of your own home?

if you still live at home, do you click out of muscle sites if a parent walks into the room or do you just carry on looking at the dudes in trunks?

I am interested to know how other getbiggers deal with situations where non-bodybuilding people notice you staring at semi-nude guys. Do you just carry on or do you get a little embarrassed that they could possibly get the wrong idea about you and why you spend hours looking at men in  trunks, covered in oil?

It's a difficult one.

I can't say I'm always comfortable if people see me.

The fact is, they don't get it, and they never will.

It's not gay, it's the farthest from being gay you could be for true fans.

Much the same way many of us couldn't take our eyes off Arnold in the movies when we were younger.

We appreciate it, and we want to be like it.

The best way around it though is to show up at work or whatever in top huge shape and they will understand from then on.

When your mother walks in and your looking at Ronnie Coleman doing a double bi back shot with his thong up the crack of his ass is easy to explain. ::)

She must think it's gayporn.

I think I read somewhere that Gustav thought Arnold was gay because he had pictures of trunk clad men adorning his walls.

So basically the whole world thinks we're gay yet we argue amongst ourselves about who is really gay but bodybuilding is not remotely gay?

I don't live with mommy but I do know she don't like bodybuilding. Does any mother?

Do you browse musclemen sites in public chaos?

No, I don't "browse musclemen sites" at all, ever.

You know what I mean. A thread will often be posted like 'WOW, check this guy out' and people will view the oil man in trunks and say stuff like ' he looks great' 'awesome' etc.. I don't think it's easy to do this in front of non-bodybuilding people.

But then if you do it in private then it seems more suspect. It's a conundrum.

If a thread has that in its title, you know it's going to have gay content. In what bizarro world do heteros comment on half naked guys bodies?

'Check this guy out'

Kevin Levrone - This man is amazing

'look at this guy's arms'

'new bodybuilder'

'250 @ 10% bodyfat'

It's all the same thing, looking at a man's body and talking about its minutiae. It's about men in trunks posing for other men to admire.

I come here because it's a flamefest.  :D  I have dudes at work like Matt C and Hurl....and I have to be civil to them.  I come on here and I can tell them exactly what I think about their weird neurotic asses.  It's quite cathartic.   ;D

My family know that I am into bodybulding and I have pictures of Nasser all over my home. I have a framed signed photo of him and I have a Nasser tshirt and cap. It is not gay to admire the greatest physique in human history. It seems that truegrit, chaos and danielson are the ones with gay issues. Ah the joys of being out of the closet; I don't care who sees me looking at bodybuilders or anything else because I am not afraid of being outed or labeled.  Doing things in secret or having a secret identity is cool in the comic books but in real life it amounts to putting up with a lot of bullshit.

It's one thing to do that when you're 13, but doing that as an adult is pretty pathetic.  As many of you well know.  ;)

Yes I probably would but not for sexual purposes but to own something once worn by one of the most famous people and my idol. The pumpkinheads are obsessed with Nasser's trunks. It's alarming.

Well... i've had a girl I'm engaged to for a few months it's no big deal for me to be looking at guys in posing trunks (to people I know that is). As weird as it really is.

It feels funny knowing that its seemingly okay to look at photos with Ronnie and his striated glutes, but if I was to look at Johnny Depp with striated glutes it would be gayer than gay. Why? Becuase Ronnie has more muscle   :-\  :-[  ???

Aren't you the guy who was singing the praises of your 'friend' Meatusheadus and posting his half naked pics all over prior to the Mr Getbig? You talked about his body a fair bit, you comment on the physiques of guys in the SQUAD, not to  mention you post pics of Alex23, asking everyone if they don't think he's handsome over and over.

That's all fine, but the hypocrisy makes it sound like the denial of a closet case to me ;D

This is very true. The more of an oiled hunk that he is the less gay it is. I have particular problems here as I prefer the physiques of guys like Reeves and Zane. Hey, stop a minute, I just said ' I prefer the physiques of guys like.....' . I sound like some bitch having coffee with her best friend Janice.

It's only embarrassing if you think there is something wrong with it.  Obviously, looking at porn (male or female) in the wrong venue is inappropriate; I would not want anyone walking in on me if I were watching porn.  But if you approach bodybuilding as a sport it, looking at it online shouldn't make you any more self-conscious than going to espn.com or the nfl.com.  You may be comfortably in denial about how gay this sport is, but that denial doesn't work when people like your friends and family are standing over your shoulder looking at your monitor.  ::)

imo...all men are attracted to strength.

And when they are around it, whether its a politician, celebrity or sports star, they get excited, not sexually but by the accomplishment of power.

You should see the way men act when Donald Trump is out and about, they fawn over him like a bunch of girls. But they are just attracted to his power and by kissing his ass they feel like they are part of it.

They  live vicariously through other powerful men, so they cheer and support them anyway they can, buts its not sexual.

I am just pointing out that it seems really gay to comment on other mens bodies. I know a lot of people on here who are definitely not gay and like to talk about bodybuilding. I can understand where they are coming from because I have been posting here a long time. Personally I don't give a fuck about pro bodybuilders or any other dudes body for that matter. I like to work out and this forum is fun. Obviously there are a lot of gay dudes who post here, we all know that. All I was doing was pointing out how weird some of the threads on here are. For example, if an average person on the street read this site and saw men debating over other mens bodies of course they would think it was gay. Like I said, I get it, cuz I am a getbigger and have been here a while, but some of the threads on here and topics are funny if you think about what is actually being discussed. As far as the question of the thread, my good friends know I post here a lot, and even some chicks know it as well and yes I get teased about it but it's all good. But no way do I ever pull this site up at work if anyones around, that would be embarrassing.
