Erik Fankhouser and James "Flex" Lewis will both be making their pro debuts at the 2008 IFBB Europa show.

Frankhouser has a fresh physique that might land him in the top 12. Lewis is too short to make an impact

Shorter than a 5' 6'' Dexter Jackson? ???
-
A.D. CHERRY is making his pro debut at the arnold. =)
word is that he is going to come in with the same condition as nationals but with another 15-20 lbs.
...with victor out, that means all the top guys will be aesthetic, and with gustavo looking off and branch going way down hill..it seems as if the more aesthetic you are, the better you will place. so A.D. might be suprising alot of people..
:D

Flex Lewis

Fankhauser
-
Both won't make much of an impact. Flex is short (but young) so he has time to improve. Fankhouser, all lower body. Upper needs a lot more work for him to be competitive. Both most likely wont make top 10.
-
Fankhauser
he really needs to work those lats. calves are out of this world
-
i still dont know how frankenhouser won his pro card.. he does look good but i dont think he is pro material, there are a number of other amatures which i think deserve to get it before him, i doubt he will do any damage at least not in the first couple of years..
he needs to work on his back a hell of a lot more, and is it just me or do his arms look a bit weird
-
i think Flex will surprise some people

Arms seem ok to me. There probably his best bodypart, besides his calves. I also don't really know how he got his pro card, lower body is good (though calves are way too big), but his upper body (minus the arms) is unimpressive (at least when compared to other pros). He may improve as time goes on, but right now it seems he doesn't really have much of a chance.
Reviewing what i already said, i think Flex will place ahead of Fankhouser.
-
Fankhouser is all limbs, no torso. He's got good arms and legs but his chest, abs, back aren't exactly the best. There's alot of pro's that are questionable though, and alot of amateurs that should be pro's.
-
both all calves :D

OK! This tread is wortless with pictures hahaha...
TEAM PHIL HEATH

I see flex doing better that Frank, flex should make top 10 but just barely, still needs to add more size.
-
Shorter than a 5' 6'' Dexter Jackson? ???
Flex is an inch shorter than the 5'6 and 1/2 Dexter. A person at that height is tall enough to still do very well in bodybuilding, although there would be some limits (top four at the Olympia for instance, would be about as well as someone of that height would likely do).
To win the Mr. Olympia, 5'9-5'11. ;D

I think there will be a 5'6 Mr O winner one day ;D

his arms do look big they just dont look normal, maybe its where the bicep inserts in the upper arm. or maybe i need glasses
-
Flex needs to get to the same size as Dexter and Shawn Ray in order to place well in shows.
-
love the sideburns :-*

AD cherry will NOT EVER suprise ANYONE til his pec tear is fixed... PERIOD.... He looks like absolute garbage in the most muscular shot...any form of it.
-
most muscular is one pose out of 8
hope this helps

Did I fail to mention from the side he is as narrow as a damn dogwood tree? No Pro with an injury like his will ever make the top 10 at any show unless there is only 10 competitors... Oh yeah and don't even try to compare his tear to Kevin Levrone, that would be a damn insult to Kevin.
Hope this helps

Yeah he's 5"5 tops
-
Funkhousa look funky,
but I like the no gut approach.
Pretty brave to compete without a big smooth
preggo belly physique.

your going to choke on your words.
-
BOTH have a great potential. As for the "too short" coments, pointless....Lee Labrada, Lee Priest, Dex Jackson, Rich Gaspari, etc all did VERY WELL!

Wow, I had no clue bodybuilding contest were won and lost on the most muscular pose. Thanx for telling me that, im a better person now because of your vast intelect. Thank you so much akers.
You must have won show after show with your most muscular pose alone

Your sarcasm is noted...however I stated FACTS. He will not go anywhere in the sport....watch and see :-*

Fankhauser
I'll give him credit for his legs but that's it....he's gotta work on upper body to compete in the pro ranks....

With all the media attention on steriod abuse I wouldn't be surprised if the industry starts heading in a new direction (if they know what's good for them financially)...more conditioned and aesthetically defined vs. big and blocky physiques-the achievable effects of steroid abuse.
Especially if the feds decide to give out heftier fines and/or lengthy jail time....the industry might have to look at other methods to judge its so called athletes...

Fankhauser
Ideal classic physique with perfect lines ad shape overall. Sadly he won't be a decent pro unless he ruins his classic lines to gain sheer freakish mass

Well he may look ok in solo shots, but once he is on stage he will be totally outmassed. He is 5'9 and was under 210lbs last show. Most pros at that height have about 30lbs on him.

So refresh my memory....did ronnie coleman make top 5 with a noticeable injury? I though he had a tear in his last and final show.
But your going to tell me Cherry's is MUCH WORSE right? ::)

Oh I agree , based on current actual judging standards of rewarding freakish mass over classic lines he won't do much damage, which in my opinion is pretty damn sad.

In comparison to how far you have gone in the "sport"?

Ronnie Coleman placed in the top five becuase he is RONNIE COLEMAN....an 8 time champ. It was done not to disrespect him..no matter what you think. In comparison to how far you have gone in the "sport"?
I have 0 DESIRE TO EVEN TRY to go to the National level. I am not some delusional guy... I have won an Open Class at a National Qualifier. I will continue to do Local and State level shows. LH in maybe 2 years will be ALL that I would even think about doing. at 5'9" and around 190 shredded I believe I can place every time at a Local and State level show... Thats good enough for me....

A good article was written by Frank Zane in one of his periodicles on how he believes bodybuilding is more of an artistic act than a sport.
-
Can't see Fankhoser lasting a long time - his calves overpower the rest of his physique.
Flex Lewis is too short to make much of an impact either - he doesn't have the small insertions that Dexter and Shawn had.
