Title: Phil Heath improving his back
Post by: Monster_Everything on February 13, 2008, 09:24:03 AM
I was looking at some Phil Heath pics thru his relatively short career, and one thing this guy does is improve on his weaknesses. He never had a wide back due to his narrow structure but his concerted effort to bring up his back is definitely working. I wonder what is will look like this weekend, here below is what he has looked like in diff shows. During last years Arnold I thought that he had superb detail .....

There's no muscle improvement there. he's simply more ripped in '07, but his back is not better.

Heaths conditioning will be unbeatable this weekend easily if he peaks right I just hope that he does not have a bigger waist to go with that back ala Ronnie from 98-99

phil heath's back is just like phil heath's chest.

it cannot get WIDER.

It will get bigger, thicker, and more bunched up.

But wideness is a genetic thing.

If you can find a pic of Phil heath and Vic martinez standing right next to one another, you'll understand immediately.  Vic is 6 or 8 inches WIDER.  So his chest and back will always be wider.

Phil has amazing arms, but back/chest are near max.  All they do now is getbunched up and ruin his symmetry.

His AC2007 back had much more detail and looked better conditioned, his Jr. Nat looks wider but you can see that where the lower lats and lower back meet is holding water. Which to me is weird cause his Hams look better back then.

So whats the verdict with this weekend...

Do you think his back will be greatly improved apon like advertised or more of the same like in the pics above ???

Do you think that his increased cardio/diet regimen in the pro level had depleted his legs too much? Notice how his calves look less impressive as the years go on and the sweep of his thighs in the 05 pic like Squad had mentioned looks 'crazy'.
