Phil is like a delicate flower compared to Yates. Phil has the arms that just jump out at you when he hits pose. Different physiques. But to me Phil isn't in Dorian's league.

Standing by themselves, Shawn and Flex look huge too, but next to Yates, they look smaller cause of the difference in height, frame and bodyweight. In that 96 shot, Dorian doesn't look as good as Phil, but if we are talking 93, it's lights out.

Phil's genetics are very much like a slightly larger Shawn Ray, and I think seeing him standing next to Victor at the O will determine who will be the next multi Olympia winner (but likely not this year's winner). To put the level of competition into perspective, Phil on his best day (to this point) would've placed only 4th at the 99 English Gran Prix behind Coleman, Wheeler, and Levrone; and if Cormier had competed, he'd have been placed behind him as well.

Exactly! Judging from pics, esp when they showcase each guy individually can be very misleading. If taken from a proper angle and closeness, Shawn Ray can be made to look like he's 6 feet and 250 lbs.

Dorian's frame was massive and there's no comparison between him and Phil. That doesn't take anything away from Phil who has done an incredible job with his physique and has better arms overall. But there's no doubt that he'd get dwarfed by the great Yates

Too bad Yates didn't look too good when he wasn't striking a pose.

That side-tri shot I posted and the shots of him at 269 pounds a few weeks out are insane though.

Here's one from 93.
