I recently joined the boards and am attempting to educate myself in reference to nutrition. I have been taking clif bars to work as a snack. Are they OK or do any of you have any suggestions on a better bar to try? Thanks in advance for your input.

They are ok, a bit lower in protein. Great complex carbs but I would rather have a bit more protein pesonally. Guess it depends on how you want to use them, as a snack or an MRP
My personal favorites...
TRIPLE LAYER:
Labrada Gold
Detour Low Sugar
World Wide Pure Protein
MRP:
Tri O Plex
VPX Zero Impact
Power Crunch is another good little snack bar, wafer like but only 185 calories

I'll be honest with you... if i were you i'd stay away from bars all together, all these brownies, cookies and whatever these crap supplement companies come up with are all junk in my opinion. Stick with nuts (almonds), yogurt, cottage cheese, hell even beef jerky before you ever start buying meal replacement bars. One thing you can do that's easy and alot better choice would be to add some protein powder in with your yogurt. (JMO)

Very true, whole food is always a better option. But he did ask for bars so those are the ones I trust a little :-\
One of my favorite snacks is Yoplait Light, Cottage cheese and berries (blue and/or straw). Fruit, scoop of protein, and nuts are great combos as well...

If you want to have a body like a runner or rock climber, keep eating Clif Bars. For building muscle, you need a better bar. The best I've used are VPX Zero Impact bars, they are a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. Zero Impact Bars are high in protein, low simple sugar content and very few additives and preservatives. Other great bars are made by Labrada, MET-Rx and World Wide (brand name Pure Protein). Met-Rx and Worldwide are both owned by the same parent company so their bar formulas are very very similar to eachother.
