Title: who here has been in Mauritius before?
Post by: Stark on February 18, 2008, 05:22:47 AM
My wife and myself are finally looking for our Honeymoon, we found a cool offer, 4 nights in Capetown,  3 nights in Kruger National Park for Safarie and the remainin 7 nights in Mauritius.

Now the question I have we would like to do that around end of May what is in their part of the world end of summer.

Would it be still warm enough to swim?
Will it rain a lot?
Were any of you guys be there at that time and what was your impression?

Thanks guys

Went to Mauritius two years ago in December - Weather was magnificant. Between May and September it's dry (no Monsoon rains) with average temp of 26 degrees.

Cape Town in the other hand will be winter - very cold and raining. Much better between November to March. For honeymooners might be perfect.

Almost forgot Cape Town's water is always freezing - no swimming ever ever.

Water temp in Mauritius is always great - swim all year round.

So you say if we go end of May the weather would be still very good?

It's paradise dude.  Enjoy it!  Your travel agent would have a better idea on climate/weather condition at a certain time of the year; it's part of their service.  have fun and post some pics when you get back!

I've never been but would love to go to Mauritius. I've been to the Maldives twice, once in Nov 02 and again in October last year - brilliant - the sort of place where it's hot all year round. Wouldn't say no to the Seychelles either but I'm saving all my money for the Olympia in Vegas this year so I guess it'll have to wait.

No way, Jose! Scott Alexander's supreme intellect would prevent him from going to a region where he could be brutalized by some white man-hating Savage!

Yes, in most cases I would agree with you, but it's possible that beings who are on the low rung of the evolutionary ladder may be immune to his wondous blue glow.
