Thanks. The sb loss sucked for sure. To be honest I have been busy with work , so I have not had much time to drink my sorrows away.

No. I think the records and the 18 - 0 took SOME of the sting off. Most people where really depressed and angry. Not to the extent I thought they would be though.

If it was a Red Sox loss Boston would of taken it much harder.
-
honestly I love the Pats as much as anybody, but if you were upset about this for more than a day or two, you have a chemical imbalance.

I don't know...I finally clicked back onto SI a few days ago. It took a week to hit the Globe. I don't live in Mass so it sorta makes it worse. I have 10 years of home sickness built up. It really stings when the old town teams fail.

How could being 18 and 0 take some of the sting off? Being 18 and 0 doesn't mean jack without a Superbowl win. Nobody gives a crap the Seattle mariners won 117 games in 2000. To me it only makes it worse. Being 18 and 0 and losing the Superbowl will be a STIGMA this Patriots team carries around for a long, long time.

Like all sports losses, the sting goes away after a few weeks. You avoid the media, and after the initial shock wears off, you start to be able to look at videos, articles, etc. Before you know it, it's next season. You'll always have it (for me the Yankees 2001 WS loss was the worst), but it becomes bearable.
This is pretty funny though.

Because they are the only team in NFL history to go undefeated over 18 games. They also set many records and had a great year. You asked how people out here felt and I told you. It may make it worse to you, but being a NEw Yorker you are all about hyping the loss! Any legit fan of the game know how hard what the pats did was, period. Hell we still have our world series win to talk about ; )

Shit, I know someone up here who actually wrote a letter to the Patriots explaining how disappointed he was.
And this is someone I considered one of the most even-tempered, down to earth people I know.

I can understand a person being upset their team lost and all that stuff, but I don't get letting it linger for years. The day after the Pats lost their were guys calling in to EEI saying how it was the worst day of their lives and they can't make it out of bed. ::) Sports makes even the most rational people act like a jackass. I am the biggest sports fan out there, but if you let wins and losses of a team that doesn't care at all about you effect your life, you should check your priorities. Support "your" team, watch the games and cheer but don't let it run your life.
