There has been a lot speculation and hint dropping lately that a fight was brewing between former Pride fighter Wanderlei Silva and Ultimate Fighting Championship contender Keith Jardine. That fight is about to become a reality.
“I’m leaving right now to sign the Jardine fight contract and you are the first ones to know officially,” said Silva on his website on Friday. “I am starting to train hard again to be able to get the victory.”
Although Jardine’s management could not confirm the fight, sources close to the fighter’s camp indicate that Jardine is prepared to sign a bout agreement to face Silva on May 24 at UFC 84 in Las Vegas.
As for Silva’s training for the fight, he elaborated on his situation, saying, “This week I went to talk to (Randy) Couture and I’ve asked him to be my new coach. He was very happy with my wish and he will teach me some wrestling. I’ll be doing the fighting training with his athletes in a time where everybody train together.”

can't wait, i see this being a real good fight with wandy coming out on top

Randy is perfect for Wand, he could use some gear advice.

And everyone thought he would "murder" Liddell too. Im no Liddell fan but Wandy is garbage now. BTW, cant stand Jardine either... ;)

Taking Couture as a coach is good for Wand. Wand realizes that he needs to learn how to best utilize the angels of a cage. Despite what a lot of people may say on here there is a great difference in angles between a ring and cage. At least Wand realizes this and is actively trying to adapt as opposed to Cro Cop who did not even actively train in a cage.

There is ton of potentially great match ups at that weight. Should be a good fight.

I don't think he's really rated that high actually just because they put him in there with wandy.....
I personally see him as a "division spoiler",somebody that probably won't ever be at the top @ 205,but on any given night can give the top dog's a run for thier money or even pull off the upset here or there....

jardine got those wins against forrest and chuck that keeps him in the mix but thats about it

If he beats Wandy he will be tough to ignore. That'll be 3 wins against very good opponents.

Wand didn't really get Randy as a coach. If I recall correctly when Randy opened up Extreme Couture, Randy and Wand were going to be Instructors there together. Depending on where Wand moved to either florida or vegas. So maybe its kinda Wand gym too a little. Don't qoute me on any of that read on the net while ago. It think it 'll be good to spice up Wands game. And Jardine makes $7,000 to show and 7,000 to win. Chuck made 250,000 to show.
