Title: NFL combine "warriors" Vernon Davis and Mario Williams
Post by: calmus on February 27, 2008, 10:29:14 AM
Mario Williams (6ft 7 in, 291 lbs) At the NFL Combine, he ran the 40 yard dash in 4.66 seconds with a 40.5 inch vertical leap, 10-foot broad jump and did 35 repetitions in the 225-pound bench press.

During the 2005 season, he started 12 games, recording 62 total tackles with 24 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, 15 hurries, a safety and a blocked kick.[1]

In 2007 year, through 15 games, he accounted for 48 percent of his teams sacks, a higher percentage than any other player. [8]

Vernon Davis (6 ft 3, 254 lbs) ran the 40 yard dash in 4.38 seconds, which was faster than most wide receivers and most running backs that ran at the combine. It is believed to be the fastest time ever recorded by a tight end, surpassing Benjamin Watson's 4.44, and has been confirmed as being the fastest time by a Maryland tight end. His display of physical tools at the combine likely improved his draft status, as Davis also led all tight end prospects with 33 bench press reps at 225 lbs., broad jump of 10 feet 8 inches and a 42" vertical jump.

He set school strength records (in spring of 2005) for a tight end in the bench press (465 pounds), power-clean (355 pounds), index (797 pounds) and squat (685 pounds)

2006 rookie season
Vernon's first reception in the NFL was a 31 yard TD catch, against the Arizona Cardinals on September 10, 2006. [1]. He added a career-long 52 yard TD against the Packers on December 10 on a short catch and long run after the catch. Davis played in only 10 games in the 2006 season due an injury he suffered on September 24, 2006. He sustained a hairline fracture to his left fibula, on a non-contact play against the Philadelphia Eagles, but returned on November 19 against the Seattle Seahawks. For the season, he had 265 yards receiving on 20 catches, averaging 13.2 yards per reception. He also had 3 receiving touchdowns.

Mindspin lost his mind, challenged me to a cagefight, me and several others laughed at him for a few days, he flipped out again, said it was a joke, but said he wanted to do it. I laughed harder, he melted more. Now he says March 17th at 5pm he will be at the Koloseum to beat me up. ;D

I'm frightened Joe, think you can teach me how to "get his back"?  :o :-X

Bush recently bombed a target in pakistan and got AQ's #3 man.

obama is actually MORE militant on issues thatn McCain is.

Obama said he reserves the right to bring troops anywhere in Iraq, at any time in the future, if there's a sniff of AQ.  Mccain, on the other hand, trust iraqi forces to handle it.

Obama said we should get troops in pakistan and get bin laden and end AQ.  mccain made fun of him for this position and said we should let them handle it - even though they've had 6 years since 911 and bin laden is clearly still loose.

Mccain said he'll bring troops home "soon".
Obama said the troops will be there every minute he's president.

So um, Joe...?

I wouldn't characterize his position as "militant"

"pragmatic" is more like it.

He's not trying to out-McCain McCain. Might as well vote for McCain in that case.

Obama will keep us safe, is my point.

he'll also stop the tax cuts the oil companies and very wealthy get - Mccain will not.

Today, joe said he didn't trust obama to keep the USA safe.  So far, Obama's been damn good with his plans and positions on it... plus, he wants to prevent the economy from collapsing.

Remember mccain telling us at the debate 1 month ago that the economy is fine?  Remember mccain admitting he doesn't know much about the economy?

I'm talking facts.  Obama called for hitting targets in pakistan months ago, and was mocked by mccain.
Bush hit pakistan this week.  Obama was right - paki's govt is powerless to stop AQ, so we have to do it.

he's not trying to 'appeal to the right' - when he said it, the right mocked him and called him naive.  He was beaten badly for it.  Then, lo and behold, it appears he was RIGHT once again.

joe, you can use phrases like "biggest lib out there" and "automatically full of shit"..

But facts are facts.  Obama called for us to move into pakistan for AQ.  Repubs and mccain mocked him.
Bush did it and got #3 Al quaida man.

Just like with the Iraqi war, Obama had the foresight that mcCain did not.

"Bringing Our Troops Home
Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.

"If al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq"     WTF? They already have.

Actually, Iraq no longer has a terrorist prob, Joe.  They have a gang problem.  Gangs of sunnis blowing up gangs of shiite, and any us or iraqi police that get in their way.

There is no AQ base in iraq.  Remember the terror camp videos from Afgh that the news played over and over?  That shit ain't happening in Iraq.  but it IS happening in Pakistan.

And obama said we'll keep forces on our bases, and he smells AQ, he'll kill them swiftly.  He might have apepared soft before, but he was out-hawking hilary at the last few debates.

We've won the war in iraq.  Both candidates - obama and mccain - say they will pull US combat forces soon.  When you attack obama's position, you're attacking Mccain too!  They have identical positions.  Mccain just won't share his numbers yet.

So if they're identical on iraq...  and Obama is TOUGHER on AQ in Pakistan than Mccain is.
Title: Re: NFL combine "warriors" Vernon Davis and Mario Williams
Post by: 240 is Back on February 28, 2008, 07:05:01 AM
By the way, joe, the white house said LAST YEAR - the #2 man at the pentagon said - that we'll scale back forces in october 2008 (right before the election).

That was all over the politics board last year.  bush been planning this all along.  Milk the spending until the last minute, then declare victory so the war isn't an issue in the nov election.

Both candidates know it too... they're taking near-identical positions on Iraq.

The only problem is, your boy McCain is soft on terrorism in Pakistan, and Obama/Bush are all about taking out AQ anywhere in the world.

Bush just reinforced this - said in press conference that we should have control in iraq, in all key areas, by october 2008.

they knew this a year ago.

either they have the most amazing predicting ability... or the war is just about milking the war treasury til the last minute.

Whatcha think?
