wow... the truth, or marketing hype to sell BSN products for another year while Trey Brewer spends his lunch money on growing into a pro card?

I hope this isn't true!

When he comes back looking like a mere shadow of his former self, it'll only give ND more ammo for the TRUCE thread  ::)

FYI I haven't posted in the truce thread in months and the debate was Ronnie vs Dorian at their best not at their worse and Ronnie already came back looking like a mere shadow of his former self past two years in fact

You mean to tell me that Ronnie has spent his bodybuilding winnings and endorsement money already?  That didn't take long.

Unless his tricep. back and quad are repaired, he will lose to competitors that are not in his league

BIG RON WILL BE BACK 8)

In all seriousness though, i wonder if those injuries he has can actually repair themselves. Apparently Ronnie isnt even training right now. Maybe this bit of a rest will actually sort some things out.

I guess thats all he needed, and he most defiantly training, just not as hard and heavy as usual.

Still looked in good shape and size at the Arnold. I guess all the years of crazy heavy training takes it toll, but maybe even a quick break was all he needed. It'll be cool to see Ronnie back on stage. As long as he doesnt look like shit, but i dont think he will.

Well Branch's back looked like shit as well last year (exactly one-sided like Ronnie's) and he fixed it pretty good. Maybe Ronnie should get some hints from his old Metroflex buddy....

240,

Probably the truth since Ronnie said that himself a month ago on Big Nation Radio. I think he's gonna do one more competition then retire.

I don't think he'll come back.

I think it's a marketing ploy, just as the others have been (You know, "maybe i'll do the arnold in 08").

Ronnie knows that the minute he's officially retired, he'll join the ranks of Gaspari, Haney, Wheeler, Ray... longtime legends but on a Tier 2 in terms of marketability.  BSN knows it too.  They'll be hyping this "maybe he's coming back.... watch our ads to find out!" for another 18 months.

He shouldn't have done this past Olympia. I said it all along. He's gonna do it once more because he knows he can gain more hype by actually committing to a contest rather than not.

It could be hype.

But to me, Ronnie is a bodybuilder.  That is what he does and I think that he has no plans to change this and certainly wants to hold on to the spotlight for as long as possible.  What is Ronnie without this?

I mean, sure.. Jay is Mr Olympia.  Even 2 years later I have a feeling Ronnie would still draw a bigger crowd.  I think he's willing to sacrifice the immortality to keep in the industry, not as a former pro, but as a current competitor.

I don't think that is negative.

So 200 people in the audience rather than 100? A 100% gain!  ;D

Hmmm...but do you think he was serious or just blowing smoke to keep the interview compelling?

What would be his gain?

So in essence, we broke a story before PBW. Chalk it up.

I seem to remember when Ronnie went on PBW last year (after the Olympia) he was already saying that he would probably compete again after taking a year off.  None of this garbage is news.  He's been saying that he wants to compete again over and over since last year.  I guess now Chad is saying it too.

A torn triceps, lat and quad will not heal themselves. I guess now with a wife, 3 kids and a baby's momma to feed times are tough. Very, very sad. Ronnie will place 4-7th at the smaller Grand Prix shows.

I think he can do it, look at Vince Taylor, he is 50 and looks better than most competitors.
