There's also Vitamin Shoppe, where their brand (BodyTech) of whey protein powder, called Whey Tech, runs for $25 for a 5-lb jug. Whey Tech Pro (which has more whey protein isolate and Aminogen) runs for $34.

5 Lb for $25?  That's the lowest I've seen lately.  Thanks MCWAY!

You're welcome. Of course, the best deals is when you can get the stuff on clearance, as I did in January. But, that price has been fairly consistent at Vitamin Shoppe's site. The BodyTech line has some great stuff. For example, if you're a fan of CELL-TECH, you might want to check out Crea-Tech Extreme.

Use the Super Saver Shipping, which cost only $3 and can have your stuff delivered in 3-10 days (Shipping is free if you order at least $99 worth of stuff).

Seriously, STFU. I pay over $100 for 6lb (yes its from GNC, but thats with the gold card!!)

I guess you could say we are somewhat limited for choice here in Aus. Although a new independent supp store just opened, they will have more choice, but it wont be cheaper :(

gas was $1.19 in 2001..... It's almost $4 today.

Oil was $26 per barrel in 2001... It's $112 today.

gas/oil bring the food to the stores.  When prices for these things go up 300 to 500%, food's gonna go up to.  Milk is up 80 cents in the last year, after only going up $1 in the 10 years before that.

I noticed protein powder went up five bucks the last time i got some

Atleast im getting free protein and supps from Muscletech now

Whats really pissing me off is Trader Joes

SHit, this place used to be cheap.

Eggs went up sixty cents this week along with everything else.

When the economy gets better do prices come down? probably not

I dont even know what that is, but i will look into it.

Im new to using supps to be honest, i never spent much money on the them except for BCAAS and Glutamine

I really like the powder, especially the free price,  but i have a bunch of boxes of Nitric Oxide, the first shipment they sent was Muscle Assylum products. Now I get to pick out the supps i want.

I have notice that myself as well. Most protein powders in New Zealand are very expensive depending which brand it is that if it is from the States that is expensive. But for Muscletech which I have seen in the supplements shops hear in NZ the prces for Muscletech supplements are insane.

MuscleTech's prices are a  bit coo-coo here in the USA, too........UNLESS you wait for the markdowns (i.e. when the products are about to "expire") and use the Gold Card at GNC  ;D .

This stuff had better taste GREAT or I am gonna come after you on the religion board ;)

hey man gotta pay a little extra for quality..i switched over to atlarge nutrition and sure it's more expensive but so is gas.. and i get more enjoyment out of a jug of protien than 30bucks in my damn tank now! It's just part of it! If i'm going to spend the money as least I know i'm getting good stuff for what I pay...there's plenty of junk out there for sure.

Not necessarily!!! Soon, I'll be heading for Vitamin Shoppe to either get some Whey Tech OR (if they have any protein on clearance) another protein powder.

And, there's always Wal-Mart, who sells Body Fortress Whey protein for $12-$13 for 2-lb jugs. And, Body Fortress protein has added creatine to it.

For those on a budget, I'd also recommend Body Fortress Creatine as well, sold for the same price.

i just moved back to So Cal from a land far away and went into my local Nutri-Shop. The "registered nutritionist" working the counter was kind of a tool. but the prices were actually pretty good and they had a nice selection of stuff

tech is cheap but tastes like shit adn clumps too much for my tastes... i don't trust shit that walmart sells. i'd check the ingredients to see where exactly you're getting your protien from as well.. higher quality shit will give it to you from different sources while the cheaper stuff might have the same amount but it could come from shitty sources or even worse production leading to an inferior product. I like something that not only loads FAST but also has protien sources in it that will slowly be taken in over time. Whey/Casein blend is perfect.

Whey Tech isn't alright to me (at least, the vanilla-flavored one is). As for Body Fortress' wares, Wal-Mart isn't the only place that sells it (though it's easy to find there). I think most of the whey protein is concentrate in that brand. Still, considering the price hikes from other whey products, Body Fortress may be a good option for those with limited funds.

It's been three months, since I've had to buy any protein, thanks to all the stuff I got on clearance sale from Vitamin Shoppe (three jugs of HDT 5+1 Whey protein @ $10 each) plus a 6-lb bag of EAS 100% Whey Protein from Sam's Club for $28.

Now, that I'm almost out, I'm beginning to see why so many people are lamenting about the price of protein.
