Title: Clinton Hints At Sharing Ticket With Obama...
Post by: 240 is Back on March 05, 2008, 03:05:53 PM
DALLAS (CBS) ― One day after Hillary Clinton's dramatic victories over Barack Obama, both candidates are firing away at each other.

Although Clinton is calling her herself the comeback kid, she is hinting at a possible Democratic dream ticket with Obama.

The latest estimate is that Clinton picked up just 12 additional delegates from her victories Tuesday night, but the lift from her victories in Ohio and Texas was huge. And Wednesday on CBS' "The Early Show" she all but offered Obama the vice presidential spot on her ticket.

"That may be where this headed, but of course we have to decide who's on top of the ticket," Clinton said. "I think people of Ohio very clearly said it should be me."

Clinton said the race between her and Obama remains "incredibly close," with just "smidgens of difference" between them in both the popular vote and number of delegates.

But Obama was having none of that.

"The bottom line is, we've won twice as many states, we won a greater share of the popular vote and what's most important, we've won far more Independents and Republicans than Sen. Clinton has," Obama said.

Could happen. But I think there's NO WAY that Hillary would allow Obama to be on top, and her to play second fiddle.

If I'm Obama, I don't want a Clinton anywhere near my campaign.  To hell with the 'Democratic base'.

Go for the intelligent White - and Black - people who've been supporting you so far.  Oh, and don't acknowledge Jesse Jackson's kiss of death 'endorsement'.

Hillary would be the worse choice for president in American history. Frankly I don't like any of the current line-up regardless of part color or sex. They all suck really bad.

The Republicans are fine with giving the country to McCain for 4 years and then 'retiring' him for a younger, more conservative model.

What this country needs is someone to come in and clean house on the political parties. they both are for shite, they are nothing but promise promise promise and no action. This country was bought and sold a very long time ago by those with the money and power. The shit they push around in the white house every 4 or 8 years is all B.S. Nothing ever changes for the better, government keeps taxing the little guys who try to get a head while they keep getting fatter. They create new programs to "help" people but all that really is is another bureaucratic office to place a puppet in and create a fat salary for him/her and their team of trolls.
Soon it will be nothing but little white trucks driving around with agents wearing badges and clipboards comming after you and me for everything. "Excuse me sir....are you burning firewood in your fireplace? You do know that's against the law now right?"    I can just see it now. The American people as a whole are all retarded when it comes to what they think is going to happen after the vote.
"Oh my god he sooooo wonderful! he's sooooooo inspiring!"" hahahahahahahahah    SUCKERS!!!!!

That's politics for ya, my friend.  Every election cycle they all throw around the same tired old slogans, but they tweak them just enough so that they're not as recognizable as they had been before.

Obama should have been at the Arnold Classic meeting the 120,000 people who could have made the difference in his losing Ohio effort.

A Special Ed interview could have secured the nomination.

I disagree, people will realize that national security is the most important issue on the agenda (or should be) if they don't realize it, then they deserve what they get.

Matt, your from Canada right? What do you think about Obama flipping on NAFTA?

he didn't flip on Nafta, and the Canadian gov also said that he didn't so that should be good enough.  That hoe supported nafta, but Ohio and Texas seem to have forgotten that ::)

WASHINGTON – Leading Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has blasted rival Hillary Rodham Clinton for flip-flopping on NAFTA, but, according to the public record, he has also switch positions.

Obama has turned trade into a centerpiece of his campaign in Ohio, where trade agreements are particularly unpopular as domestic manufacturing jobs disappear.

Texas and Ohio hold nominating contests March 4, and Obama has criticized the North American Free Trade Agreement at campaign stops in both states.

"What the world should interpret is my consistent position, which is I believe in trade," he said after meeting with workers at a manufacturing plant in Ohio. "I just want to make sure that the rules of the road apply to everybody and they are fair and that they reflect the interests of workers and not just corporate profits."

Just last October, however, Obama announced he would vote for a Peruvian trade agreement that would expand NAFTA into that country.

In fact, he was the first presidential candidate to declare support for the NAFTA expansion. He was also the keynote speaker at a luncheon of the Hamilton Project – a Wall Street group working to drive a wedge between Democrats and organized labor on globalization issues.

NAFTA went into effect in 1994 while former President Clinton held office. In her memoir, Hillary Clinton called NAFTA a success, though she says she has a plan to review it and fix it.

Obama said he opposed NAFTA from the start and U.S. workers were not the only ones to suffer from its effects. Wages and benefits in Mexico had not been improved by the treaty, he said.

Exactly - two of the states that lost the most jobs.

The Clintons have built their careers - and immense wealth (since taking office) - on the collective stupidity of the American people.

Yeh Hillary is loaded worth $34mill and Obama is only worth $1.3mill  He is on a closer level with the average American then Hilliary is.  Also FL and MI better not have a re-vote, cause if there is there will be riots in the streets, they broke the rules, so why should those FL and MI delegates count as that hoe wants them to be.  All she does in wine, and people give in to her, its pathetic.

you've bought into teh fearmongering.

the 3 candidates are very close on nat'l security.  obama is actually tougher on rooting out terror groups than Mccain is.  Obama called for bombing pakistan targets MONTHS ago, bush did it last week.  Mccain is against it, to get AQ.

See joe, that is PROOF of Obama being tougher on terrorists than mccain.

You claim mccain was... what is your proof?

See, you continually say obama is weak on terror... but the evidence is that he's called for tougher sanctions and intervention, while mccain said we should NOT go into pashtun/paki to get osama bin laden.

Your facts are wrong, Joe.  Wrong.

why don't you think she wants to release her tax info until after april 15th >:(  the hoe is hiding shit, and it will be to late by that time, and everyone will have been fooled by her.  Obama asked her several times to release her tax info, but she refuses to? whats so hard about releasing your tax info if you have nothing to hide?   However she can win all the rest of the primaries by 60/40 split and still come up short in delegates.   So Obama will be the nominee, we will just have to put up with her fake smiles and cheesy head nods for another 6 weeks :'(

I am not American or following this much however i remember a few years ago i did some sales training and it was on body language. The guy who ran it was very very good (Alan Pease) and he was commenting on different celebs and their body language and what it meant.

He showed a pic of Hilary holding her arms outstretched and said 'For some reason she thinks this makes her look honest'.

She is full of shit, i have heard about the fake tears before each state vote i can't believe people fall for this shit

everyone with a brain in DC knew to put all their money in cheney's company when bush starter making war.

also, bill is tied in with Countrywide, who just defaulted a bunch of people.  Some think THIS is the big story that Hilary is selfishly hiding... she'll get on teh ticket THEN it'll come out that they gave bill some sick pile of $ while foreclosing on a bunch of people.

Suspicious death bodycount aside, the country was not better off when he left office than when he'd been elected.

Why did he sell sensitive U.S. nuclear secrets to the Chinese government?

Why did he push for and sign NAFTA, which subsequently cost America untold tens of thousands of jobs?

If I were Obama, I would lay the Clintons on the mat for NAFTA.

All those U.S. manufacturing jobs that are no longer in this country...that's reality, not fear-mongering.

I disagreed with much of the stuff Bill Clinton did but you have to be kidding me.  The body count?  That's straight out Jerry Falwell's Clinton Chronicles.  The country was demonstrably better off after Clinton's 8 years.  Was it all attributable to his policies? No.

Quote
Why did he sell sensitive U.S. nuclear secrets to the Chinese government?
B/c George Herbert Walker Bush implemented the policy of selling China missile parts that we have deemed expendable.

Quote

B/c he's a corporatist president.  Just like every other president in recent history.  That's why Ron Paul is a Lyndon Larouche also ran.  He's not a corporate tool.

NAFTA was a great money maker for the monied elites.  Average americans got the rug pulled out from under them.  I was anti-NAFTA.  I still am.

It looks like neither might have enogh delegates, which is what it's all about. Doesn't this go to a brokered convention in which all the delegates revote for whomever ever they wish at that time?

Not that it matters, the winner has already been chosen, (McCain, watch and see) barf

if she's forced to run with obama, she should state early on who the staff will be.

If Americans know that a Wesley Clark will be Sec of Defense from minute 1, etc, they might be more comfortable with the lack of military sense on the ticket.

Besides, the economy is equally as important, and mcCain already admitted he knows very little about the economy.  And, with all his military experience and wisdom, he still flippantly treats war (and the resulting carnage and loss of life) with cute little songs like "bomb bomb iran".
