WHO YOU CALLING SWEETIE BITCH??? Only my GF gets to call me that, and you're not my GF!
The NPC is a fucking scam..... I cannot believe they make the competitors PAY this much $$$ to enter one fucking show.......
$150 fucking big ones for one competitor to go in one fucking show ($180 if you oay at the show).....man, a fool and his money are soon parted.
Entry fee is $70 with an additional late fee of $30 if entry is turned in day of event or is postmarked after the closing date on entry form (1 week prior to event). Additionally, every athlete must purchase an NPC card which is $80 payable at check-ins, day of event and payable to the "National Physique Committee". The NPC card is good for the "calendar year". No exceptions.

I believe there will be a sac show, but since jon lindsay doesnt promote it, its not on there.

Good call.
Lindsay has almost all the shows-by himself or as co promoter. But he does not have all I guess.

There are other shows in California. Steve O'Brian, John Tuman and others promote them in Northern California. John Lindsay usually takes care of the Southern California shows, although he has a few up north in California (Contra Costra, etc).
And don't forget Lonnie Teper's NPC Junior California show in California towards the end of June!

It would take at least a year for that fat guy on the left to get down to 15% bodyfat, and then he would probably have to compete as a lightweight.
How is he a "monster" ? you mean at the buffet ? ???

Flex, are you saying that Alex A would be hell of a mentor and best in breed to prep someone up?
-
Your talking to a former 2 time Junior cal champ.
It was the first show i ever did. And it was a cool show. It has grown big time. Last year over a hundred competitors.
All the pros show up to support Lonnie. A few years back Ronnie and Jay guest posed together and Jay has returned for 3 years straight. The show is held in Pasadena Ca

Thats the plan so far.....there was too much happening for me to compete again when I wanted too after last years Excalibur, I had originally planned on the Cal as a qualifier then the Nationals, but as it stands right now...next years Excaliber, Masters and OPEN of course ;D
Hey, I might need a training partner........Alex ;)??
Only one problem right now, I've been so caught up in playing Golf, I have neglected my training, I have purposly cleared my Friday morning schedule just so I can play........hey Bob C, I'm playing Old Rec in Long Beach in the morning, we talked about this before, if you're ever intrested, lemme know...next week I'm trying to reserve Pelican Hill :D

Can't it be both? Come down to San Marcos, I live right on the Golf course, we can weight it out while doing a 9. Just don't hit my house, she gets pissy.

Oh shit....you're close to Torry Pines, I'm there :D
Seriously, I am seriously considering it again and it would be cool to train with you for it 8)!!

Without getting too mushy, there's been a lot of negative energy in bb in the last year or so.. it had a toll... but for some reasons I have a feel that it's lifting away. Seem like everywhere I go I see more enthousiam about it.
I ain't quitting anymore.

Well, to be honest with you, thats one of the reasons why it took me almost 20 years to come back and compete again and even when I was training for it, I was torn on wether it was a good idea or not....don't get me wrong, I still gave it 100%, trained hard and did exactly what I was told. I had alot on my mind at that time, some of the things were my wedding which was one week after the show, my stepson having the kidney tumor and was I doing enough to compete by todays standards. The Excalibur was only the third show I have attended literally since I stopped competing in 90'. I kind of had an idea of what I was up against but not totally.
But as I look around, it's a chemical game, the guys that I talked too back stage were on so much gear, it was hard for me to even comprehend....it was ridiculous.....to me, besides the judging standards, is the biggest turn off from competing.

Lindsay promotes the vasy majority of NPC shows in CA.
Steve O'Brien does the Contra Costa, and that is usually his only show unless he co promotes the Cal with Jon Lindsay. In fact I believe Lindsay even co promotes the Contra Costa with Steve now.
