..........now $738! :o
I've gone to the Olympia for many years as a VIP seatholder. Unfortunately, to keep my seat this year will cost $738 or I can choose to move back an entire section for the old price of $631.75. AMI seems to be taking a real chance with this. How many people are going to pay that kind of cash?! With the economy in trouble, it seems like a big gamble.

P.T. Barnum was a real American philosopher, don't you know?

I have done the same. I got a email yesterday about it. No more VIP for me. Fuck that shit. I'll go to the Mens judging and finals, that's it. Regular ticket is fine. Even though they are fucking expensive too. >:(

That's fucking nuts. For that money you could go to a real sporting event.

exactly. They know enough of you bodybuilding junkies will pay and they'll still sell out of VIP tickets.
I'd go to Vegas to party, check out the expo, and watch the boring contest Sunday morning on webcam.

Some wealthy schmoes up in this thread
-
anyone who would pay almost 800 dollars to watch a bunch of grown oiled men in thongs needs to re-evaluate their lives.
seriously...and this is from a fan of bodybuilding.
-
Can't believe that anyone would actually pay that much to watch a bunch of guys in underwear posing and straining. That said..seems a bit of a steep hike.
-
Remember back in the day when the Olympia - during Arnold's reign - was like, what, $50?

People travel from all over the world and spend thousands of dollars on airfare, hotel, food, & tickets. Airfare is higher than ever, the economy is slumping, and AMI wants to squeeze $738 for a bodybuilding ticket. I have a feeling the VIP section won't be full this year. Many people were already upset about moving the show from the Mandalay Bay to the Orleans, and now a 16.8% ticket hike! After many years of attending, I'll just watch the webcast. :-\

Better suck my dick and serve me coffee with that $800
-
$800 ? that's a nice Tag or Tissot, you'd have to be mentally retarded to spend it on a show highlighting oiled up men prancing around the stage in thongs.
-
The expo price has been raised as well, from $10 to $15. This is either the result of AMI being in financial trouble as mentioned in another thread, or they are supremely confident in attendance after last year's reported sell-out crowd. One year of good attendance and the prices go up, seems very greedy to me.

Translation = for that price I'll just stay home, and hire a local bber to "entertain" me.
-
That's fucking ridiculous - I'm going to Vegas this year for the Olympia - I don't mind them putting up the Expo tickets but $700 plus for VIP they can shove it. I'll just get a ticket for the prejudging and get a regular one for the finals.

You never know....at the very least, you may get to see some "Titus ball squats".
-
paying that much money for oiled men in thongs dancing on stage. with music that starts too late in. amateurism at best and gayer than respect for women.

it is alot of money but it aint one ticket. you get tickets for all days of the expo and all shows, and being the $700 tickets, you sit in rows 1-3. the $600 tickets are rows 4-6. how much would 3rd row seats at a super bowl be?

Could most of us that go to shows , afford this fee and price? sure.
Is it fair and reasonable? Hmmm, if they sell over 90% and make money ,then it worked for them.
Major fans of the Olympia , may be willing to pay the extra and still go.
I might consider going of they simply moved it back to a venue like Mandellay Bay.THAT would make the extra $$ worth it.
I tend to avoid the Olympia as I think it is over hyped and prefer a more grass roots atmopshere.
I am major fan of Jay , but just can't pay this kind of price.
Add to that air and hotel and you are around 1500 bucks.
You will see me at the Tampa Pro for sure at a fraction of that cost and having a better time.
I may go to the NY show and the SW pro in Dallas. How was that fall show in Atlantic City?
The Pariso's run a great event in Dallas and worth any bodybuilders support.

The $738 is for sections (not rows) 1-3 and the $631 is for sections 4-6 (midway back on the floor). This is the "superbowl of bodybuilding", not the actual superbowl.

I am NOT a pro football fan, I am a bodybuilding fan. But seriously, you can't compare the NFL Superbowl to the Mr Olympia. The Superbowl is major media event on all the sports pages and major networks, newspapers, etc.
The only network that covers the Olympia is bodybuilding.com :o

You could rent 2-3 muscle escorts for that kind of dough. ;D
-
No way Melvin Goodrum could afford
a two of those tickets!
The broadcast is probably better than being there in the cheaper seats.
-
i'm sure they're targetting their wealthy gay customers rather than the average BB fan.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!
Howie laying down the truth. I'm sure Colt covers the Olympia too.....right Bay?

I went to one Olympia in 2001. Worst $75 I ever spent...haha
Pro bodybuilding is very boring, talentless, and based primarily on heavy drug use/genetics.
I like posting on getbig though.

Natural titties?
Croatch only likes natural breasts, no silicon.....therefore, I figured I'd ask him if there was such a place for natural tit admirers....

I phoned up the Orleans Arena from my home in the UK last night to buy some tickets.
I got fobbed off my the stupid bitch who's told me to phone back again today - I'm trying to buy the $210 seats which are relatively near the front but up the sides. My wife seems to think we'll have a good view as we're close to the stage but I'd rather not watch it side-on - I'm not sure if I can be arsed to pay all that money just to see the guys side-on.
Still - I suppose I can take photos of all the huge guts on display when they're doing their rear-double biceps. ;D

Some schmoe that is willing to pay $600 for this shit isn't going to balk at $700. ::)

I agree with the racist. ;)
Schmoes (aka suckas) will shell out whatever they ask to see their oiled up heroes and favorite shemales in their undies.
