Police: Woman, 80, Punches Cop, Throws Handcuffs
TAVARES, Fla. -- An 80-year-old woman went down swinging when a police officer tried to arrest her.
A Tavares police officer pulled the woman over at the intersection of U.S. Highway 441 and Huffstetler Drive for an improper lane change.
Authorities said Thalia Logas refused to sign a ticket and punched the officer in the stomach and chest several times when he tried to place her under arrest.

The officer called for back up and a Lake County Sheriff's deputy arrived.
The two officers said they finally got the handcuffs on her, and she managed to wiggle out of them and threw them out the window of the police car.
"Obviously we want to make sure we handle somebody of that age with care," Jody Maltzman of the Tavares Police Department said.
"If it was my mom, I'd be wanting to have it out with that policeman," Tavares resident Ralph Smith said.
Logas was out of jail on bond Friday morning.

If the dash cam showed that the cops acted professionally and this lady really was just being finicky and violent, I'd like to hit this Ralph Smith with a shovel.

Bet that cop is going to have nightmares about that 80 year old lady.
-
well if she got out of the cuffs that shows you right there that they cuffed her loose probably to avoid hurting her.
They should have tazed her and blasted her with pepper spray...that's what they would have done to me.
-
She looks younger than 80. Maybe it's the dyed black hair.
-

Her son is the executive producer of a great radio show.
-
hahah db is one of the funniest dudes on here.

The cop was a schmoe and actually paid her 20 bucks to kick his ass. He paid her another 20 to tell all her friends about it.
-
I'd hit it.
with a shovel.
-
I'm surprised they didn't plant a few vials of deca in her car and blame on the steroids.
Old people can be VERY nasty though. If you've ever had a job were you have to deal with a good number you understand what I am saying. Some of the most spoiled people on Earth are seniors of the USA.

-
Or did they try to arrest her when she didn't want to sign the ticket?

That is the problem with this society...Everything should never be black and white....There is some grey when it comes to some issues...And when you dealing with our elders who actually made this country what it is, one needs to understand what is right and what is wrong...
When an 80 year old makes a bad lane change, you make sure that she is sober, that she is still alive and you actually give her a fucking ascort home for crying out loud...Either that, or you don't pull them over at all...
These douch bag cops could sit around any bar all fucking night long if they really wanted to make a bust....Fact is that they don't...And for a cop to pull over a woman who is basically dead, shows that this cop should be put out of his misery
-
thats not gh15...... ;D
-
Arrested for improper lane change? ::)
When a Police officer gives you a ticket you are technically under arrest right then...the ticket is a promise to appear in court. They are saving you and themselves the hassle of going to jail and bonding out..if you refuse to sign the ticket you have failed to agree to appear and they can take you in and make you bond out..usually the cost of the ticket.

Police save us from bad people, why hurt them, its mean
