Last weekend at The Arnold Classic, VPX announced that they signed Jenny Lynn to an endorsement contract. This should be great for their brand as she is a well-respected athlete and a role model to many.
-
Happy for Jenny Lynn...I'm shocked that she was let go...Why do the ladies have such a hard time getting contracts?Kim K I believe was let go...Monica B is no longer with a company...whats up?

From a purely marketing perspective, I think BSN was wise to let Monica Brant go as they are a hardcore bodybuilding supplement company trying to appeal to guys. I think Monica is an amazing athlete, inspiration etc. but unless a company is very committed to appealing to women at the expense of men, it is hard to get a return on your investment.

That logic is great if they didn't use women at all, however they have Alicia Marie and Kristina Lindley on their roster, with Alicia featured more and more.

Great catch Isaac, I forgot about those two! BSN hopefully knows their audience better than I do but I cannot see any supplement company successfully appealing to hardcore bodybuilders, active male fitness types and women - all at the same time. These three market segments are drastically different from each other. When given the choice, consumers prefer specialists over generalists. A male bodybuilder does not want to use a muscle-building product that women are also using and vice versa.

I'd disagree.
They have different product lines and different marketing approaches to each. If you look they also use more non-bodybuilders like pro cyclist Antony Galvan, a more fitness model looking guy in Anthony Presciano and Julien Greaux who is a MMA guy in many of their ads. I like BSN products based on taste and I'm no Trey Brewer. ;)

Is it me or did the post orginally say Jamie Eason instead of Jenny Lynn? ::)

Just got through reading the post, and they make a lot of sense. Thanks for posting this news.

VPX says they don't have a product for her to promote? Thats stupid. Proteins, fat burners, energy drinks...figure competitors probably use all these on the daily basis. VPX uses women in their ads all the time so why not use the figure Ms. O? ???
-
That's a bummer that things didn't work out, but at least they showed the proper respect, IMO.
I'm not sure what she's into, but I'd rather see Jenny Lynn selling equipment or apparel anyway.
That's just me, though.

I heard Monic and B$N couldn't come up with an agreement for a new contract?
It's funny. I know a few girls who purposefully used B$N products simply because of their idolization of Monica Brant.
Jenny Lynn should be happy with VPX. They're an excellent company. BlockHead Approved!

Sorry, IKE... I forgot to go to your website today to keep tabs on the IFBB Pro Figure girls. My bad, homey.
VPX is still 'BlockHead Approved'. Sure...why not?
