For Bush and his cronies things coulnd't be better. Bush managed to get us into "fucked if we stay - fucked if we go" situation in Iraq. He's managed to keep that oil off the market while also contributing to an increase in consumption due to the never ending occupation. This makes his cronies in the oil biz very happy and the never ending occupation makes his friends with no bid government contracts very happy. He's also deluded himself into thinking that somehow history will be kind to him and that it's just the dumb fucks in the present who don't understand how great he is.
