I had it since this summer but it got worst and worst cause I didn't go to the doctor to have the nail removed. I hate doctors ;D

i actually broke mine in 2003 loading a leg-press.dropped a 45 pound plate right on the nail.
cut the skin above and fucked it up. bled alot. hairline fracture in the bone...eventually turned black and fell off months later, and a new shitty nail was under, not nice either.
u get used to it!

yeah I can walk on it, it doesn't hurt anymore! I could not last week tho, that's when I decided it was time to go see a doctor ;D

I had the same thing, on the same toe, about 8 yrs ago. Sucks but if he did it right it won't come back.

What sucks is unloading the leg press and dropping a 45lb plate on your toe. I did that in high school and the nail has never grow back right.
I remember not wanting to make a scene so I finished my leg workout. When I finished and got back to the car I took my shoe off and my entire sock wa soaked with blood.

and even did CALVES!!! (putting direct pressure on the toes)
after i felt my foot being "wet" i realized i might not be sweating...
i knew it was blood, but i ignored it for a little while longer, and got a half- decent workout at least!!!

i think back to that moment from today and laugh. HARDCORE SHIT!! lol
ps i still have the shoes i broke my toe in... ::)

he's right mike, the Legendary Stavios once finished a leg workout with me, and then proceeded to bang 3 chicks who work at the gym.
you could tell his legs were in excruciating pain, but he kept going...till the job was done.
where was i?...watching from a distance while i had my shake (post workout)....i wasn't gonna let my body go catabolic after that workout! it was all about recovery!!! PS - CELLMASS BABY!!! HAHAHAAH ;D

i was j/k!.............i had the same thing years ago (it got so infected/swollen they had to operate on it)
just numbed it up on the OR table and i could see/hear everything...........not fun

The secret to an ingrown toenail (from someone who had a the toenail on his big toe pliersed out WITHOUT anesthetic) is to PAD THE NAIL.
About a week after I had my toenail pulled off (after suffering with an ingrown nail for two months) my brother dropped a keg on his foot and also suffered a similar ingrown big toe nail.
I felt like a complete fool sitting there with my padded and bandaged foot while my little brother washed his toe with antiseptic; scraped off the scab; and pushed a little twist of cotton wool in between the side of his nail and the infected skin, thereby separating the infected skin from the nail surface. Then he dropped a smidgen of disinfecting alcohol onto the cotton wool wedge.
Seems the problem is the interaction between damaged/split skin and the nail itself. The keratin in the nail is recognised as a proteinous invader and an appropriate immune response is triggered: a severe (and continuous) inflammation.
Don't ever get the nail pulled... pad the junction of the nail/infection with disinfected cotton wool. If you're doctor doesn't know about this, tell him: or go to another doctor.
My brother's ingrown toenail was healed within three days, whereas I suffered a doctor's office torture session and spent the next two weeks hobbling around in slippers.

PS-I highly recommend the pulling of finger/toe nails as a torture technique... very effective.
