Title: The day of reckoning draws nearer
Post by: calmus on March 14, 2008, 08:31:42 PM

Hahaha, we'll see how many people are concerned about enemies in places they can't even find on the map (I'm looking at you, Joe Marino) before this year is done.

falling interest rates

$110 bbl/oil

A war that's costing us at least $12 billion/month

A still climbing trade deficit

And more foreclosures...

WOnder how much longer some of you can keep thinking that this is all happening to somebody else.

The consumer is laden with debt.  Food prices are climbing rapidly.  The Dollar is sinking.  Gold and other commodity prices are still rising.

What are the fuel prices for a single truck with a full load per week?  How much is it costing for companies to ship goods from the warehouses to the stores?  How much does it cost for that fully-loaded Wal-Mart truck filled to the brim with Chinese-made goods to bring those wonderful trinkets to store shelves?

And the US turns a blind eye.  We expand NATO and anti-missile sites ever closer to Russia's border in the name of Defense.  We continue to dress down the state of Russia's lack of democracy but ignore the numerous atrocities the Chinese government commits......A Chinese government that makes Russia look like Montpelier.  We decry the religious brutality in Iran but don't mention that the exact same things occur in Saudi Arabia.

Haha...

Americans are living in a fog; glad I left the place....

Sometimes...people need to learn lessons; sometimes people are nations and are also in need of such lessons...

Tax and Bomb doesn't get you too far these days, now does it my fellow Americans?

Still can't find Iran on a map? :-X

Who knows? Most Americans are ignorant, self-absorbed folk; even if it hits home they won't be able to connect the dots. Too stupid.

Apparently not. ;D

Do you think your military insider status gives you some privileged view of the economy that someone else is not getting?

The economy sucks...and it is going to get worse....and it has everything to do with monetary policy and foreign policy...

You think the Empire won't end? Maybe not in our life time but in the 5th century a lot of people thought the same thing and it happened...empires crumble. It is the way of things. The way they crumble is often by going broke.

I am not a 'lib' unless by 'lib' you mean Libertarian...

The economy will bounce back...it will take hard work. Some it is due to Bush and concentrating on the war. The housing market is due to a once strong economy which allowed people to buy beyond their means.  I don't comment alot on the economy because its not my thing and don't worry alot about it. U can bitch all u want about US foreign policy but appeasement and nukes will suck more. Besides u left so its not your foreign policy.

Yes, but living abroad...I HAVE to live with the consequences of the shitty foreign policy, quite directly actually.

BTW, on what grounds do you believe the economy will 'bounce back'?

Where exactly are u? I don't but it always does...How do u know it won't. Ok shitty response and a prime reason why I don't get into economic debates. I am worried about things because we don't make anything anymore...we rely on foreign oil.....but getting off oil will help.

This is quite true. McCain is 3/4 done with Alan Greenspan's book, after which he'll have 1/2 a clue of what the hell to do with the American economy. He's had to do some quick reading, because as he said, "the economy is not my strong point."  :-\

It is very difficult.

First you must click on my profile, second you must look, third you know.

Next year though I will likely be in the UK.

It would be easier if you just answered the fucking question, numb nuts.  >:(

Now that I see where you are, I pity you for being in that God-forsaken, miserable place. I hope you at least spend time in Itaewon engaging in pleasures that make that country of inhospitable bastards less stressful.  :D

He spins all sorts of tales.

A few months back, he told us all about Sam Walton's book.  Claimed to have read it.

That very same day, we had a discussion on the Waltons and his exact quote was "I have no clue who the Waltons are!"  It was a nice example of BB making shit up whenever he feels like it just to be involved in the conversation.

You know the deal with religious folk and lying. They are EXPERTS at it. The deeper the lie, the better.

You are right. Korea sucks, but the money is good. That is why I am here. Korea is a bank. I am getting my money together so I can pursue graduate studies.

Not that much really, we starting to disinflate the dollar, a while back ago. This stuff has all been done before and worked fine in the mid 70's and 80's in fact a committee was formed in order to drive down the price of the dollar, the euro, the yeng in the 80's. All markets work together, comparing them is a illusion...still one that makes money though.

Everyday in the USA, scattered all over various interstates are rigs abandoned by independant owner/operators. They siphon out and sell the fuel in their tanks to get a bus ticket home, ...and abandon their rigs on the side of the road. I haven't seen this personally myself, ...but when I get together on conference calls with the truckers, they claim it to be a very common phenomenon. The sad part is, ...you don't hear a peep about this on the news.

What did i miss dumbass...Everyday in the USA, scattered all over various interstates are rigs abandoned by independant owner/operators..is that what i missed.

Independent truckers may be run off the road

MSNBC Mon., March. 3, 2008

Trucker Robert Griffith is on the road three weeks out of four, pulling oversize loads like crane booms, railroad ties and air conditioning ducts. One of his biggest worries: How he'll find the money to buy his daughter a prom dress.

As the cost of diesel doubled over the last four years, his take-home pay has plummeted, from $50,000 to $11,000 last year. He's literally burning money; he spent $64,000 on diesel in the last eight months. Since he canceled his satellite radio, he's on citizens band radio constantly (handle: Instigator) talking about what needs to change so truckers like him can survive.

bush & co. are doing a great job huh ?  ::)

God help this country if bush errr mccain is elected.

NT

The captain of the ship fvcked his crew over constantly. Eventually the crew shoved a mast up his ass and threw him overboard in shark waters.

The above is the story of the bush admin and the american people.................h opefully. >:(
