Title: another gymnastics oh brother thread
Post by: Paul Allen on March 18, 2008, 06:03:28 PM
I heard on tv the other day that the top olympic gymnasts train 6 hours a day.

how come they don't overtrain and lose muscle?

we shit ourselves if we're in the gym more than 40 minutes, (about 8 of which is actual resistance training), run home for 14 protein shakes and avoid overtraining at all costs.

yet we're fat and they're not and more muscular than we'll ever be.

lot of bodyweight exercises. Dips, pushups, iron crosses etc..over and over will build you muscle.

Speed skaters generally have well developed legs and glutes and do plenty of reps.

I love speed skaters... Catriona Lemay Doan had some thick legs.
