There always tends to be a small line of people willing to pay Lou $20 for a photo. I wonder if he actually makes a good amount of cash at these shows. You know the guy is not claiming this on his taxes as income. I wonder if he wouldn't mind someone tipping off the IRS about this.

Does anyone know if Lou has to pay for the booth? Especially at the Arnold, these booths are extremely pricey. If he does, then I'd figure he would make very little.

Onlyme knows everything about Lou-inlcuing his gross annual income and all $20 a pop photo income,
The fact is, if you are 58 years old and are reduced to selling photo's at a few BBing/Comic events 3-4 times a year at $20 a pop, you have been a failure in life.
If that ever happens to me I am just going to put a bullet in my head-it wold be more respectable.

That's not necessarilly true. Val Kilmer and David Arquette were at the last few conventions I attended.

A booth is 2K so figure it out and add in traveling fees also.

John Romano reported on here that Lou sold about 150 autographed photos at the 2006 Mr. Olympia contest. Lou has a Weider contracted so the booth is covered.

I dont see anything wrong really, he is just making a living, cause there is no other way available to make a living as a bodybuilder. What do you want him to do turn tricks? He is being smart.
The only ones who should be ashamed is the IFBB and other leaders of the field that cant provide a decent living for these guys.
ANd 20 bucks isnt that much on the east or west coast.

Lou didnt pay anything to be in the weider or europa booths. They let him set up there, he didnt get paid to be there, he only gets the money from his photos. They let him because he generates a ton of traffic(although im sure you guys think otherwise) I handled the money with him every year and he would make thousands(believe me more then you think) a day at the arnold sometimes. Also a few halloween conventions i did with him as well and he made similair money. We would be straight out for 12 hours on our feet and the line never got small no matter were we went. Lou does very very well. All the money he gets from photos has been used to pay for all his kids colleges and schooling.
I have been with him 3-4 times at the arnold. Hes been a friend for 8-9 years and a very good guy. Ya know whats funny...every year in the booths we never had one person say something negetive to him...go figure.

Yup, big Lou started all that. He looks at it like this: he's in the biz of selling pictures. If fans come up and take their own pic of him for free, they don't buy the pics he's selling. Back in the era he is from, pros made money selling pictures at all the shows and expos and many of them adopted Lou's tenet of business. Now most of the autographs are free to fans as a condition of an athlete's endorsement contract. Lou is still selling pics because he is still under contract with , not AMI, but with Joe Weider. He probably sold 150 photos over the weekend. That's an extra 3 grand in cash for Louie to take home. But, he still pays to produce the copies, so it is not all profit. Whatever it is, it is still worth it to Louie, and enough of his fans support him to keep him coming back. If Louie makes it to 80 and bodybuilding is also still around, he will still show up at the Olympia and the ASC to sell his pics.

i know exactly how much hes made from 2000-2004 since me and my wife dealt with the money. He also sold out 60 of his stand tall dvd's in 2004 when he brought those. We have had to find a printer every year from 00-04 because he ran out of certain pics in two days. But whatever...im melting
