Title: Most Successful Bodybuilder after Arnold??...
Post by: Captain Equipoise on March 24, 2008, 11:29:19 AM
Has got to be Lee Labrada,  Labrada nutrition had revenues of over $20 million in 2004 and made the list of America's fastest growing 500 companies!!!..   compared to other burnt out pro losers that are working at gas stations or gym's.  Labrada probably makes more then all the current pro's combined.

I bet Jeff Everson and Dan Lurie have done pretty well for themselves. Mike Mentzer, if he didn't breakdown would've done well for himself.

Gary Strydom owned CrazyWare, which I think did decently.

Pete Grymkowski owned a chunk of Golds gym.

Come to think of it a lot of the old timers did well for themselves- Joe Gold, Jack LaLanne, Steve Reeves, Vic Tanny, Harold Zinkin(Universal weight machines)  Walt Marcyan(Marcy equipment), etc.......

Be a bit more specific, when you define "successful".

Competitively?
Commericially?
Finanically?
Within Bodybuilding?
Outside Bodybuilding?

LOL, Gaspari nutrition is maybe 1/1000th the size of Labrada nutrition, both in terms of sales and size..
I've been to a lot of gyms around the world, most gym juice bar's stock two types of shakes: 1) Met-Rx  2) Labrada  , I had a hard time finding Gaspari products (which I love) in the States.

Yep, Labrada is at basically every gym I go to, but not Gaspari products.  I think Gaspari has good numbers though.  SIZEON is a great product.  Full review on my site.

Sean Connery, 1950 Mr Universe entrant.

Tommy Chong, lifelong lifter with a best-selling line of quality bongs thru Nice Dreams Enterprises. ;) He's working on a video about lifting.

Chong is certainly something of an authority on marijuana, having been a friend of the weed for the past 40 years. A unique dimension of Chong's interest in marijuana is his belief that "pot and working out go hand in hand." Toward this end, he has been developing a workout video titled "A Doper's Guide to Fitness." As Chong explains it: "If you're gonna party, you gotta be in shape. If you're in shape, you can do everything once." Chong observed that he has been lifting weights and seriously working out longer than he's been smoking dope.

and where are "juice bars"? mostly in health clubs, Gaspari is not targeting the general public like Labrada, he is targeting bodybuilding, big difference.
