ON advertises 5 g of BCAA in addition to glutamine per serving in there 100% whey product. Will this save me from taking BCAA separate? I am trying to consolidate so I am not taking so much at once. Eventually I will up the BCAA to 10g but for now 5g is fine....I just want to make sure I am not shorting myself by relying on the BCAA in the protein mix. Thanks

You can always supplement more. It's just a matter of money.
-
bcaa's > whey
in my opinion
-
unless you're dieting there's probably no need for EXTRA BCAA's above and beyond a good whey protein, if you're dieting, training hard and doing a lot of cardio then you probably want to use extra BCAA's especially pre and post workout.
-
for such an anti-supplement guy, dave, i would imagine that you of all people would be anti-whey.
personally i think that whey protein can be good, but even if i drink some whey prior to working out, i always sip on bcaa's during my training...regardless of bulking or cutting.

not trying to flame but it's probably a waste of money just like when all the guys use the Milos pre/during/post workout drinks, if you eat a very large protein and carb meal an hour or less prior to training and then either a whey pprotein drink or BCAA's with some simple carbs and creatine followed by a large protein/carb meal half an hour to an hour later you'll be fine.

this is what i do,
i train first thing in the morning
wake up and take 30mg dbol with two caps fish oil
half hour later eat a mig meal of protein and veggies
one hour and a half later(2 hours after the fish oil+ dbol) i take eca
half hour later i drink a blended protein shake with some n.o. supp i have
then i dirve to the gym... while i workout i sip on 10 grams bcaa
post workout i dirnk a shake of 20 grams belnded protein, 10 grams bcaa, 40-60 grams waxy maize
when i get to my house and shower, i eat a carton of egg whites, one can tuna mixed in, and a big bowl of either oatmeal or some kind of complex carb cereal.
one to two hours after that i eat a big meal of meat, veggies, and some efa's
thats my nutrition protocol for the moment...

just wondering why your taking an ECA stack while trying to bulk up? i know you are trying to stay as lean as possible while putting on mass but isnt the ECA taking away alot of potential size you could be gaining?? just wondering
-
i dont see any reason why it would slow down my growth. why do you think it would?

i agree 1,000,000,000 percent with this, i don't see why any guy trying to get bigger and stronger would use ephedrine ESPECIALLY a natural, that shit interferes with the two most important things, appetite and sleep, guys think that because they're zipping around the gym like the 181 pound Energizer bunny that they're getting bigger, bullshit.
-
well all three of your reasons for being anti-ephedrine dont apply to me...since imm not 'natural", i never am NOT hungry, and i only use it in the morning before i train...
i really only think it helps me...i can lift harder, longer, and with more concentration because of it.

it's still shit, bodybuilding and speed don't mix.

to ech his own..
i dont "zip around the gym like the 181 pound Energizer bunny" though. im very calm and still between sets. i just sit and wait for my body to recooperate...then i hit it hard once i feel rested.

just going back to what i said before about trying to get as big as possible while using gear but then to use something like ECA that would seem to be almost counterproductive...im not knocking the eca stack just questioning the use of it during a bulking cycle...but like you said to each his own i would just think that to get as much as possible out of the bulk you would just want to hit it hard and eat clean then after the cycle of gear when youve put on the size then to maybe use ECA or something along those lines to burn off some of whatever fat you gained while on the cycle...

how is it counter productive?
im not a huge believer in the need to store fat in order to grow at the fastest rate possible. in fact, im not sure i even think you need t have a caloric surplus in order to grow at the fastest rate possible. and i dont see how antagonizing the beta receptors before a workout is going to hinder the synthesis of new protiens..

If it REALLY contained 5g of BCAA's per serving...you wouldn't buy it, it would be too expensive! ;)

It does, whey is naturally high in leucine, isoleucine and valine, nothing special about it. They arent magical aminos. Taking them with whey fucks up their absorption hence the reason for supplementing them on there own.

I didn't say that whey DOESN'T contain those amino acids....I said it doesn't contain 5g of those three AA's per serving
