I'm sorry, but this 230 pound body crushes the competition. Samir included. BTW, the intro music was what was found in The Terminator the following year:

That intro music is actually from Conan, which was released long before this contest. Haney looks great, but Samir was nutty that year.
-
big beef it betil deserved a sandow....he could have destroyed haney...

I agree that Bertil should have placed soooo much higher than he did. The IFBB made him lose like 45 pounds and even at a lower weight, they STILL didn't give him a higher placing. If Bertil was a pro-bodybuilder in todays age he would rape the competition with his 22" monster biceps.

Close call. When Lee hits a front lat spread, rear lat spread, fdb....he uses that vacuum to his advantage to show off his massive back and chest. But his legs and arms are lagging at this point of his career.
Samir was pretty much perfect at that show, not as big as Haney, but certainly presented a bit better overall package in terms of balance- and he had that "Wow Factor" by finally coming into the show without holding water; his main problem in past years.

I think he would murder the competition, but the judges would still want to lynch him.

No. Samir was the clear winner. Plenty of guys weigh 100 pounds more than Samir and they could shine his bb shoes.

5 tubs= you crapping your brains out!

Samir was clearly the winner in 83. Lee Haney wasn't in the picture.
-
Well, Haney placed pretty high....but, yes, Samir was the clear winner, even over Zane.

Obviously Lee Haney placed high (deservedly so), but in 83 it was Samir's Olympia.
