hahahhaaa, i know, shit there a bunch of potential Kimbo destroyers on the Mike Tyson thread on the main board yesterday, all those "guys" seemed to think that the badass trailer park champions Chuck Liddell and the massive 187 pound Randy Couture would destroy a 20 year old Mike Tyson because Mike "doesn't have any ground skills". ::)

Tyson was a monster in his prime but the sports are so different. Tyson wouldn't have been able to piss away nrearly as much money from MMA.

put them in a boxing ring and sure tyson would crush them, but to think he could beat liddell or couture at their sport in their arena is just crazy. it's like saying the world's best knife fighter could beat someone who was allowed to use a pair of swords because they're both "blade fighters".
tyson at his prime was scary good in the boxing ring, but the MOMENT it went down to the ground he'd simply have no clue what to do. it's not how he trained.
hell, just to use a piss-poor example from my own brief foray into this shit, i saw boxers get rocked just training muy thai because of the difference in mechanics. boxers train to duck a lot, to get UNDER punches. watch tyson videos and see how good he was at that. however, in kickboxing that's suicide because if your opponent sees your head go down you're gonna get a knee in the face, and i've seen it happen.
you put a top of the line boxer against someone like wanderlei who's got devastating knees and he'll be KO'd in the first round.
