Before we had get big and similar forums:
1. I felt bodybuilding was a pretty good sport overall.
2. I enjoyed meeting other bodybuilders.
3. I felt confident most people liked me.
Now after, get big.... :'(
If this place were any more negative, it would = the USA national debt.
Of course if you are like me and keep comming back , you are asking for it.
Kinda like when someone is going to fart and gives you a quick warning of the comming blast.
Instead of moving away you stick your face near their butt and take one to the face.
That is what get big is like...taking a stinky fart in the face and asking for another :P

Without it, the powers would stull deny synthol, drug use, G4P, etc.
Now they downplay it, but accept the fact that ppl know the truth about the sport. Which is GOOD. You have LESS 17-year old kids believing they will be Mr O if they train hard enough. They're more realistic with their goals.

Now they downplay it, but accept the fact that ppl know the truth about the sport. Which is GOOD. You have LESS 17-year old kids believing they will be Mr O if they train hard enough. They're more realistic with their goals.

Face it, positive happy sites are just boring. I've tried posting on other forums, where I could actually learn something or just have regular conversations...it's dull. Getbig, people blast each other and make me laugh, more importantly. A few threads here and there, I'll be crying in laughter...much better than most sit coms. ;)

it is good to have the truth out in the open but here is another question . How many feel that sites like this actually make it easier for kids to get on the sauce (now they know the pros do it so they have to, use as well type mentality) the one positive is at least the kids would get a bit better info then learning by trial and error like a lot had to do back in the day
i think this place is a riot and its great that what pros do put there two cents in do. i am actually surprised the ifbb hasn't put restrictions on the guys when dealing with the public ( like no getting into it with internet people)

Anyone with ideas will soon find dissenting opinions on Getbig which, I suppose, is a service in a way. If you want to find really oppressive people then go to the 'scientific bodybuilding' sites!
What can happen on line is that opinions can sort of gel and individuals will find it hard to change how others see them no matter what they do or post. Eg., how many think Bob C is an IFBB stooge? There is power in the keyboard afterall. Goodrum gets his serving of putdowns no matter what he posts. People still call him 'Vince' even when he posts under his real name Melvin. There you are.

this is big part of bodybuilding like it or not,.and some of the greatest bodybuilders ever were and are regulars here! this is actually one thing the internet era was good for with aspect to bodybuilding,,a youngster in thailand or in poland that is lifting weights can now be a lot closer to the place where it all is,,in arnold time you had to actually come to usa first and then think what to do ....now days you can start in your homeland and get to usa while people know about you long before you landed

I have to laugh the way Chick is innocent of all charges. He is part of the problem in professional bodybuilding and nothing but a sheepdog to round up the stray bodybuilders. Everyone but Bob can see this. The guy is clueless so got the nod from Jim. I guess Bob is the epitome of professionalism. Kiss the right butts and you get rewarded. That is why Getbig does a service in giving a platform to ignorant old fools like myself who delight in keeping the bastards honest. Not that shameless guys like Chick are capable of integrity. We accept that he has a family to look after and a mortgage to pay. It is all self-interest.

Well, being that the rules specifically state they reserve the right to test..I'd imagine it could be anywhere from 0-10 times.

When others criticize what you say or do the next thing you do is personally attack them so as to discredit them. Bob won't give an opinion that will criticize the IFBB. End of story. Oh, he comes up with small points but ignors the major issues like drug testing. I represent the athletes as a whole.....when they express an interest in getting tested at the pro level, I'll be more than happy to request it from the IFBB.

There are plenty of laws that are not enforced despite being written...does that mean they are "encouraging" you to break them?

I am asking on behalf of my natural gym members who can't compete with the drug users. Will you see if you can get drug testing so that all bodybuilders can aspire to win the Mr Olympia? That surely was Joe Weider's vision.

very true. People should try looking at the crappy flexonline forum. It seems like no one is allowed to say anything *negative* or drug related etc. It seems thatall of the posters on there (ie, all 4 of them) walk on egg shells. Also, Quincy Taylor's on there too, which says it all really.

The good thing about bb internet boards and generally internet is that you can actually come closer to this sport and bb's you admire more than any other sport out there! Lets take for example football, does it have boards where professionals are posting? i dont think so...maybe they are too "busy" to communicate with the fans ::)

even if hes not a pro..which i hink he is...you can tell that what he says is true...simply because no one in "the know" ever tries to contradict him. well, milos has...and gh15 owned him pretty badly if i remember correctly.. but i mean, when he makes referencees to pros cycles and habits and other things...you KNOW those pro read this board...yet they make no comments.. its because they know gh15 knows what hes saying is true... and probably dont want gh15 giving out deeper darker secrets and info about them..

People do what they believe they think they have to do..it's a chice. No one is forced to do anything, in bodybuilding, or any other sport...they come up with tests, athletes find a way around them...just like always. Apparantly the athletes aren't looking to be tested, haven't been one request so far.

We got the truth about bodybuilding here.
Without it, the powers would stull deny synthol, drug use, G4P, etc.
Now they downplay it, but accept the fact that ppl know the truth about the sport. Which is GOOD. You have LESS 17-year old kids believing they will be Mr O if they train hard enough. They're more realistic with their goals.
Don't forget the nubain addiction. The rampant prostitution in the female bodybuilders and the perpetual lies and scams by the supplement company.
Without Getbig...more people in this industry would be more rich.
