You must be thinking of the contest(s) held at the Steirer Hof Hotel. His very first show was Mr. Steiermark; Mr. Herkules; and Mr. Austria in 1964. How you may ask? Well, all three of those contests were held at the Steirer Hof Hotel on the same day.

The one Kurt Marnul won was the Mr. Austria. The lowest placing Arnold ever had was at the Mr. Steiermark where he placed fourth. I've never know Arnold NOT to place in a show.

Yeah. You ever notice that the bodybuilding community reconizes Arnold's first show being the Junior Mr. Europe (1st place)? Not so!

As for the peak being "shopped"? I don't believe it is. I mean, you see he's not in a very lit room which I believe he purposely posed in such in ambiance. One looks better in such lighting á la being drunk in a nightclub! LOL! :D

Anyway, I get what you're saying, I personally don't believe it's "shopped". I mean, look at these photo. He's about the same age, and has a good peak there as well.

that's what i meant by his reaction is priceless. i do feel for the guy, as i thought he was better in overall balance than zane and coe. zane was placed that high mainly because of his status at the time.
