SLAYER > megadeth

i dunno. slayer's pretty overrated, even if reign in blood and seasons in the abyss were great CDs. meanwhile, peace sells and rust in piece are really UNDERrated, i'd say.

that said, i probably agree.

From a live perspective Slayer were always Numero Uno.
Megadeth was kinda weak presence- and looks-wise.
Rust In Peace was an 11 on a scale of 10. I've never been a Megadeth fan but this album oozed perfection and ideas.

i agree there. not to mention their longevity has been awesome (christ illusion = great). that said, i never thought they were really the metal gods they were portrayed as, and while i still maintain RiB is a great CD, it's FAR from the masterpiece it's made out to be.

First two albums are great thrash albums.
Same for Slayer with Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits.
They're both overrated as fuck though; Thrash Metal isn't limited to 3 bands...

Give a listen to Demolition Hammer, Exhorder, Kreator, Lääz Rockit, Exodus, Infernäl Mäjesty, etc, and enjoy :).

Check out Demolition Hammer's first two albums Tortured Existence and Epidemic of Violence and tell me thrash metal is overrated :)
Good thrash is very rare but very good.
I'm more of a death metal fan overall though.

i tend to find thrash speed at the expense of actual heaviness. generally. exceptions exist though, and death is definitely better. 8)

Demolition Hammer is some very brutal thrash, I highly recommend this very underrated band.
