I just wrapped up my training today for my IPA Meet next weekend and the the UPA Nationals the following. I took my opener today to a half board and called it good. I will take this week to just do some light training and stretching to keep myself loose.
I'm pretty excited about these 2 meets, I have not competed since July of '07 and have not had a good lift in contest since the Arnold '07. This 12 week training cycle has went very very well. Well other then the fact of me packing back on over 30 pounds!!! Did not care for that to much, I was 318 when we started and I should come into the meet around 350. Soooooooo I am so ready to get in there a hammer up some good numbers.

Glad to hear it, Wolfie!
What are you opening with?
What do you attribute your weight gain to?

Increased calorie intake probably..... just a wild guess though.

Sure but maybe its partly lean or perhaps its all fat. Just curious if the diet he was following worked the way he wanted (lean mass) or if it backfired.

Judging from what he said, quite a bit of fat. But he's got better things to worry about than fine-tuning his diet. Would be curious to know what he plans to open with.

Thats why I asked. ;)
Powerlifters like to stay in a certain weight range. You could be upset about weight gain whether its muscle or fat. I believe Mike was aiming for 308's, right?

Best of luck to you Mike. :)

My opener is what should be a conservative 865, hope that dont come back to bite me in the ass :)
As for the weight gain, I'm gonna say it was a 50/50 gain. All in all I went from 318 to 365 in about 12 weeks. I gained alot of lean mass, but my size 42 work pants are a little snug right now. So I also gained back some fat also. I'm not really worried about the weight right now though.
I was actually kind of wanting to come in around 340 but blew past that without realizing it. When I jumnped on the scale expecting a 340 weight I was like 353. I about shit!!! But I was not where I wanted to be so I kept eating. Alot of the gains def came from a DRASTIC increase in food and I also added ALN's new Creatine product called "Results" 2 servings of this a day and I gained big time.
But I'm now on my way back down, at 365 I was not feeling good at all. I'm around 350 right now and will try and stay here for the 2 contest and then I'll come back down for the summer.

Fuck that, you can't live forever, period. That means you've got just so much time to get done the most you can get done so when you are gone, people have something to remember you by.
The skys the limit Mike. Go for it.

the only way i could bench 865 is if you gave me three reps to do it. :(
