I need to get a copy of that video to show to some elephant handlers I know. Elephants have self recognition, but thats beyond self recognition.
I think its pretty cool.

I wasn't all that impressed. I couldn't tell if it was a self-portrait, or just a sketch of some imaginary skinny elephant.
I'm also pretty sure I could sketch an imaginary elephant better, and my brain is nowhere near as big as that creature's

Yeah, its a trick--the elephant has been trained to draw that by tracing a previous painting according to the elephant people I talked to about the painting. Its still cool as hell though

They tend to not have that degree of control when painting without quite a bit of training.
I know different elephants when painting have different color preferences too. That to me is pretty neat.
