Are there going to be any European shows after this years Olympia? :-\
-
They are not currently listed on the contest list.
Were there ever any planned?
As the NPC page lists IFBB shows, 8 of 11 shows are still valid for 2008:

They haven't had these for a couple of years. For some reason, these were dropped. Don't know why. You'd think that a few IFBB pro shows in Europe would do well.

Shows the huge growth and mainstream potential ...... ::).....we are going backwards boys....

When Wayne left so did a shitload of shows and Money. Check how many IFBB Pro shows back in 2003 2004 and look at the prize money.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ::)

I have to agree. Except for the Olympia & Arnold, prize money is stagnant, attendance is down, and the contest schedule has been cut back. Changes need to be made to these $20k shows. There was a glimmer of hope with the Japan show to appeal to a new fan base, but Hide took care of that. One step forward, two steps back.

Aren't there IFBB judges in Europe?
Isn't the Euro worth far more than the U.S. dollar?
Then why is it so hard to make an IFBB pro show happen in Europe?

I think if you total up the prize moeny from 2004 and from 2007, you will see that in 2007, the prize money was more.
Would like to see one or two European IFBB shows back. As for the Keystone, another pro show, the Houston Pro, was added. There are always changed being made, such is life.

If it wasn't for a few committed individuals, things would be even worse. What if there were no Tony Doherty, Jim Lorimer, & John Balik? They bring stability to a few shows, but the other shows are hit and miss. I'm not sure why the IFBB doesn't run these shows themselves.
-
Because they the IFBB like to receive money Not pay it out. ;D

I thought the Houston Pro was the replacment for the Shawn RayTM Colorado Pro? ;D

Top pros made some of their best showings at Grand prix shows........why not bring them back. >:(
Kevin 1999 british grand prix
Ronnie 1999 british grand prix
Jay & mustafa 2003 british grand prix
hungarian grand prix's
finlands, italy's
and many many more....
Some of the pros would have the chance to "peak" at them if they were not in shape at the O.

The Grand Prix's were fantastic, but even Dorian couldn't make them work when he co promoted the last couple. Sad state of affairs
