Title: Grits vs Oatmeal??

Hey all just wanted to get opinions on which is more beneficial for bodybuilding nutrition Grtis or Oatmeal? I personally like both, but what are the pros and cons of these foods?

Lol..no what I was trying to find out is what is more beneficial..for instance I think oats contain gluten, but do grits??

Nutritionally, there's more minerals and fiber in oatmeal.  Less carbs (& calories) (cup for cup) in grits.  Grits are a byproduct of corn.

LOL Right now it doesn't! When I am at the point in my diet where I dream about food. Its amazing how any hot carb all of sudden is delicious!

Doesn't look very appetizing either, my Father use to do it for years and I thought it was sooo nasty, but then I tried it and it is really good! Scrambled eggs mixed in with your grits, salt and pepper and you are good to go. My Dad is from the south, so I think it may be a southern thing.

yup take 2 cups egg whites, 2 packs grits, 1 slice kraft singles and microwave that in a pop corn bowl and youve got colemans breakfast

Mine too.  He would mix his runny yolks with them  :-X

It's great stuff!

I'll fry 6 eggs and throw some cheese on top of the grits and mix it all together, with a glass of milk.
