Not necessarily, that pic doesn't say much about his genetics. First, 14 is way too young to have a clear view of one's genetic potential. At leat for a man. Would be different if we were talking about a female. Second, some guys actually look naturally skinny and weak but once they start lifting they'll just explode. Response to nutrition also is not clear at that age.

Define "poor genetics"?  In terms of being able to gain strength, muscle mass, and get shredded, I think he had incredible  genetics.  I think when one speaks of Rich's "poor" genetics, they are mainly talking about structure, but people tend to generalize when they speak of this.  What do you guys think?

Tom Platz, upper body wise-catching up to his legs

Frank Zane, especially since he was a solid mesomorph, and how ripped he'd get

I can't believe it took this long for someone to say Platz.

He seems the obvious choice.

gaspari is prolly my alltime favorite but I go back and forth between him and labrada. Gaspari was just awsome with what he did especially for the time he did it in.  He crushed tons of guys with way better genetics than him and really changed the way the sport was judged, up until he got riddled with injuries nobody put more effort into what he did.

there's a clip on youutube of his routine at the 88 olympia...it's f'n awsome.
