Title: Hiring a Trainer
Post by: Gym dude on April 11, 2008, 01:23:58 AM
How much does everyone pay for their trainer? Thinking about getting one to help me with motivation, spotting etc

Just get a training partner....free...and basically, the same thing.  You shouldn't need a trainer to be motivated.  I NEVER use a spot and do just fine.  Just use the Smith machine or go slightly lighter.
I just saved you $1000 or more. ;)

Waste of money. Read, absorb and adapt for your own body. Check Serge Nubret's thread on here too.

Bit confused why everyone says its a waste? I figured you'd learn something from them, not getting the gains I want at the moment.

Here's some free advice.  Write down everything you eat for a week, then post your diet here.  I'll tell you what's wrong with your diet.
Supersets, coreballs, and spotters...only do so much.  Radically change your diet for 6 months.  I bet you'd be shocked at your results.
That will work, guaranteed.  However, most would rather employ a trainer, than actually eat 6 meals a day, every day for 6 months....good foods.  It's easier to hire a trainer, then tell yourself, "I'm really going that extra mile."
Nothing wrong with having a trainer, but I would guarantee a solid diet...from a shitty one, will ruin any "training guru" as far as, the gym routine benefit you'd receive.
Great diet for 6 months>Employing a trainer
Most just can't hack a good diet though, plain and simple..haha  They'd rather "wonder why" they can't make better gains.
