Is it worth to take Citrus Bioflavonoids as supplement if I dont eat fruits? I can get 1000mg tablets.
-
Wouldn't hurt. Are you are taking a solid mulit vitamin/mineral to begin with?
-
Yes I take a multi plus a b-100 complex, 4g vitamin-c, green tea, q-10, calcium magnesium zinc. :D
-
hey kuka i ooften hear of guys taken large doses of vitamin c like that.....is there some sort of benefit other than anti-dioxidant/immune system..?
-
some multi's already contain bioflavanoids. you may want to check yours, but even so the dosages would be much lower than 1000 mg
-
I dont know, but stress is catabolic, so antidioxidants are important imo!
But I am a littlebit crazed about vitamines. :D

Ok I will check! Where I buy, there is only 1000mg version. It will doesnt hurt, does it?
-
nah, fruit derivatives are hydrophillic, you'll piss it right out
-
I do a little research:
However, Frei said, it's also true that such mechanisms require only relatively small amounts of flavonoids to trigger them conceptually, it's a little like a vaccine in which only a very small amount of an offending substance is required to trigger a much larger metabolic response. Because of this, there would be no benefit and possibly some risk to taking dietary supplements that might inject large amounts of substances the body essentially sees as undesirable foreign compounds.

I should eat eggwhites with oats and a grapefruit for breakfast, but protein shake with oats is so comfortable in the morning. :(
