Title: When do we find out if there is a Euro Grand Prix?
Post by: 240 is Back on April 14, 2008, 07:45:45 PM
The IFBB season started ten weeks ago.

They're still "figuring out" if there will be a Euro Grand Prix this year?

Kinda hard to buy that one...

It's details that are being figured out, not whether there will be shows....

Keep your hat on...

Classic -Pro competitors get to nominate shows they want to compete in at the end of each year. Now how does that get done when shows are not even listed. Is the prize money more than 10K???.

The shows are added to the schedule as they are confirmed...contracts don't need to be signed until 6 weeks before the date.

Without the European Grand Prix events I sense a weakening of the IFBB. I used to look forward to these shows after the O. They used to be a refreshing change of pace from the predictable O results. They would showcase some of the good European talent that we don't all get to see here in the states.

Chick your our only hope......... :'(

if i buy my plane ticket 3 months before the shows because its a lot cheaper than one month before the contest, and the contest is cancelled like keystone , what happens then? ifbb pays gives my money back? or i just loose my money? you get punished if u have your contract signed and u dont compete, is this the same thing or not...........hummmmmmmm mmmmm....just wondering..........

These shows will not go ahead.
IFBB will not announce for several weeks and when they do they will brush it off.
Alot of the old Euro promoters have moved on. 90's are over folks.

Plane tickets are very expensive at the last minute, especially those that cross the big pond.

Perhaps wherever the snafu is this year (in years past, at this point, we already knew there would be a grand prix or not)... perhaps they can find that snafu and fix it.

If promoters don't have the hall secured by now, chances are they're not going to have it on game day.  Same with paychecks.

Smells fishy here.

"Last minute"?? The shows aren't happening until AFTER the Olympia...a mere 5 1/2 months away.

I would assume that within 3 to 3 1/2 months of the Olympia, we will know about the Euro Grand Prix shows, and if there will be any.
