Title: Is this bad advice??????
Post by: bigandbrolic on April 15, 2008, 09:40:50 PM
I get questions all the time about working out and what should they do.  I have recently settled on telling people to go to a store and purchase any bodybuilding magazine and read it and follow any of the beginners program and it will be a good place to start.  IS THIS BAD ADVICE????

If it bothers you then next time it happens simply tell them in a very serious way  that you don't workout and never have so you have no knowledge it what they ask. See how simply??

There you go!

Seriously, I feel bad for people. I used to help people out at my old gym (free). But now that I train at a "chain" gym (Gold's), the people are different. I hate wasting my time on people with zero drive/dedication, but there are people out there who are just clueless and could really benefit from the little bits I know.

It would be difficult for me to do the "helping" since Gold's would look at at like I'm taking away business from their clueless PT cronies. Some people don't want to pay $800+ for 12 sessions from a fat, clueless, idiot who can't keep herself/himself in shape.

Fuck, I just stand there shaking my head sometimes......you should see the fat chick teaching the "aquatics" class....... :-\

Today, if someone asks me about diet/training, I just reply, "Look on google, they have tons of good links on bodybuilding."  I used to go through the whole deal, but in reality, people want to talk about it, but never do shit.  They feel like talking about training is somehow going to transform their physique alone...haha

You'll absorb more protein from food, but if someone told me that, I'd laugh in their face.  They may want to stay away from glutamine and glucosamine too. ::)

I personally workout 10 hours on the weekends, and 3 hours each weekday.  I do 76 sets for chest, and 25 sets for bi's and tri's.  Now here's the secret, repeat this workout every single day.
This is how you grow!

Lol.

True dat. These fat fuckers at my gym.....everyday, chest, arms, for hours at a time. Today I saw one of them up in the cardio area, I thought about asking him if he was lost. Fucking funny fat guys....awesome tats, lifting gloves, tank tops that don't fit, and massive cases of ILS.

For the most part if someone asks me for advice I always try to help them out to the best of my ability.  Every now and than though you get the same guys at the gym asking the same dumb questions over and over again and they want you to give them easier solutions to their issues than the ones you give them.  Like with the dumb kids who want to be ripped and huge but don't want to mess up their "balls" with roids.  My stock answer to these stubborn assholes is to go get a 7lb tub of cell tech, a bottle of xenadrines, and all of the hostess products they can buy and they'll be there in no time.   ;D

I like to strike up conversations with the young ladies in the pool and secretly piss while we talk.  Sometimes they dunk right down into it to get their hair right.  Good times.

Thats the problem, just about everyone on here thinks that training someone as a pt relates to just bodybuilding type training.......couldn't be farther from the truth. Maybe 20-25 years ago when training was less advanced but not now I assure you.

Ever wonder why Milos blew his knee out and tore his quad at the same time just by doing a sprint? (not a blast on Milos)
