I was going to say that^^^
...Your next US President might make a powerful difference, so I hope that vote goes okay.
We have a big election here in England in less than two weeks for a new Mayor of London and it's likely to go the other way, which will make a huge impact. I've not decided yet...
xxx
At present, the most powerful man, it's almost certainly your daft US President Bush.
But I guess it depends on how you define power? Hope you dispose of him properly, put him to rest. Putin's on his way out. Soon it'll be a whole new world because Brown won't last too much longer here in the UK, we'll have a new leader soon too, I'm fairly certain.
What's the name of the guy in charge in China?

Apparantly Osama bin Laden. Makin a fool of the US military for years now. Probably eating a chicken pot pie and laughing his ass off.

I have two observations.
Judging by the "intelligence" displayed by HH6, BB and "w8lftr," it's no surprise he's eating a chicken pot pie and laughing his ass off.
And the second, ROFL at "Chicken pot pie"

Nelson Mandela could maybe invite the Dalai Lama 'round for a cuppa. Then the pair of them could have a mad dance and then afterwards sort out that lot on the other side of the planet?
& your President Bush will be bound to do all sorts of wonderful things before he leaves office, it's his prerogative:
let me look that up, oh waaaa it's:

Oprah and the Pope.

The only person I can think of is Mr.Cheney and I am convinced of that based on seeing a number of people do a very scripted tongue and cheek roasting of him this past Wednesday on C-SPAN at this event that is called the radio and TV correspondents dinner. Cheney's power had much of the people at that banquet laughing at some of the not so lame jokes that were done to make him seem like a genuine individual in politics.

My pleasure. usually I'd attempt to derail the thread by asking members to nominate the most powerful person in the political board, but I'd actually like to see where this thread leads.

Your pick does make a lot of sense. He's set himself up nicely.
-
Ehud Olmert.
Anyone who is the leader of the nation that holds the US in its thrall should always be considered one of the most, if not the most, powerful person in the world.
Putin? lol. The guy can't even prevent the ever expanding NATO and it's plethora of anti-missile defense systems being set up, effectively thwarting Russia's nuclear deterrence. I do greatly respect him as a leader, however.
-
In retrospect, I would say that President Bush 41 might be because he said in 1991 that the Persian Gulf War was a pretext for what the next century would mean based on what he did to Saddam Hussein as well as Udei and Kusai.
To me, that signifies the fact that Bill Clinton did not have the power that all those 90's democrats thought he did to be the president that he turned out to be.

Nice to see that for some people the cold war is still not over.

Putin is a czar when you compare him to who Gorbachev was.
