From the NFL Network.
NFL's top 10 draft steals in league history
NFL Network
Tom Brady, sixth-round pick in 2000
Brady has led the Patriots to four Super Bowls and three titles since 2001. As the MVP in 2007, he set an NFL record with 50 touchdown passes.
Joe Montana, third-round pick in 1979
The 49ers won four Super Bowls with Montana at quarterback during the 1980s and he landed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Terrell Davis, sixth-round pick in 1995
Davis rushed for 6,413 yards in his first four seasons for the Broncos, helping Denver to wins in Super Bowl XXXII and XXXIII.
Deacon Jones, 14th-round pick in 1961
Jones played in eight Pro Bowls, including seven straight for the Rams, as a pass rush specialist and won Defensive Player of the Year honors twice.
Dan Marino, first-round pick in 1983
Even though the Dolphins took Marino 27th overall, five quarterbacks were taken before the man who rewrote the NFL's passing record book.
Bo Jackson, seventh-round pick in 1987
Jackson was the top overall pick in 1986, but didn't sign with the Bucs. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry with Oakland in a career shortened by injury.
Shannon Sharpe, seventh-round pick in 1990
In 14 seasons, Sharpe won three Super Bowls. At the time he retired in 2003, he held the tight end record for receptions, yards and touchdowns.
Ray Guy, first-round pick in 1973
The only punter ever to be taken in the first round of the draft, Guy averaged 42.4 yards on his punts over 14 seasons with the Raiders.
Larry Wilson, seventh-round pick in 1960
During Wilson's 13-year career with the Cardinals, the safety made eight Pro Bowls and had 52 interceptions en route to being enshrined in Canton.
Roger Staubach, 10th-round pick in 1964
With Staubach under center, the Cowboys scored victories in Super Bowls VI and XII. He led the NFL in passing four times and went to six Pro Bowls.

1999-Aaron Smith, 6th round, DE Northern Colorado. 2 Pro Bowls and anchor on the Stillers D line. Joey Porter, 3rd round, DE Colorado State. 3 time Pro Bowler, 3 time All Pro. 553 tackles, 65.5 sacks, 12 picks.
1998-Hines Ward, 4th round, WR Georgia. 4 time Pro Bowler, 3 time all pro. 719 catches, 65 touchdowns, 8,767 yards. Surefire Hall of famer.
1997-Mike Vrabel, 4th round, OLB OSU. 542 tackles, 51 sacks, 10 picks. All Pro 2007. Had two sacks in victory over Carolina, prolly should have been Superbowl MVP.

Are you serious?

Absolutely. He'll probably end up with more than 850+ catches, 75+ touchdowns, 11,000 yards. He is a Superbowl MVP, and the best blocking WR in football. Only current active receivers with more catches, touchdowns, and yards are Marvin Harrison, Issac Bruce, TO, Randy Moss. And Hines wasn't inserted into the starting lineup until his second year.
-
Andre Reed, 4th Round, 86th selection
Reed is fifth in NFL history in total career receptions (951), eighth in NFL history in total career receiving yards (13,198), 10th in total career TD receptions (87).

I wouldn't call him a lock, but he's definitely in the conversation. If he finishes with the numbers you say, he would get my vote based on your analysis. Unfortunately, the HOF voters are all over the place. Look how long it took Art Monk to get in. Being Super Bowl MVP will help a lot.

He should be in. He will probably be penalized for not winning a Super Bowl. Dumb, but that's how those HOF voters think.

At this point in his career, if he just averages 70 catches in the next two years, he is guaranteed a spot. He runs a lot of outs, which don't require the blazing speed of younger receivers, and he is still ferocious in run blocking.

T.O.- 3rd Round 1996
Brian Westbrook-3rd round 2002
Emmitt Smith -pick 17th overall 1990
-
I know that Peyton Manning was number 1 overall, but he should be on this list for the Colts not taking Ryan Leaf. That would have been a disaster.

you can't be a steal when you are taking number 1 overall

I know, I'm just saying. He's probably one of the top 5 QB's of all time...they were REAL close to taking Leaf.

Porter and Vrabel were definite steals
