Title: What are good diet drinks?
Post by: jtsunami on April 19, 2008, 05:57:47 PM
I am trying some Crystal light now to keep my appetite off since I am on a diet now.  What else is good, I talked to ArnoldJr and he likes Coke Zero I think or dr pepper.  I know crystal light only has 5 cal's a serving, Coke zero suppose to have 0 cal a serving, are all these good choices, anyone else have favorites?

Diet Dr. Pepper is my favorite, as is Crystal Light (you can also get a Crystal Light slushy at 7-11)...some of those carbonated waters are good tasting too but watch out for the sodium if you have problems with that sort of thing. When I go to El Pollo Loco they have this pretty good lemonade from Minute Maid with only 5cals/serving. Don't know if they make it where you can buy it a la Crystal Light though.

there are hundreds of diet soda's that use splenda

but most use aspartame

nothing wrong with either though

sucralose is non nutritive...    phenylalanine is a naturally occuring amino acid..and it converts into tyrosine..another naturally occuring amino acid

Fresh brewed green tea, not the commercial brands in the can or bottle. No diet sodas of anykind, they can and will cause more hunger and unwanted insulin spikes.

LMAO @ Protein Farts, I've GOT to use that line with some of my weaker clients..hahahahaha!

I like clear fruit flavored carbonated water drinks.  They are cheap too.  Zero everything and they quench my thirst.  And I love Crystal Light

total bullshit

insulin is released in reponse to nutrients entering the bloodstream, NOT in response to sweetness  ::)

coach, why would it cause insuline spikes?

that link says absolutely nothin about insulin.

YOU are the one wwho still has alot to learn.

the reason why someone who drinks diet soda gets fatter than someone who drinks water is purely psychological. it has nothing to do with biochemistry. there is no insulin spike.

if "tasting" something sweet caused a release in insulin, then "smelling" something sweet would do the same thing...and "hearing" the word CAKE would cause a release in sulin

mr intenseone... you dont know SHIT

Any Diet Rite is great, especially at night since Diet Rite  is one of the few drinks that does not contain caffeine.

Root beer is the same, no caffeine. So diet root beer is great too. When dieting hard down the stretch i was drinking every diet drink, every flavor i could get my hands on.  Root beer was great, IBC makes diet in the bottle. Throw a few in the freezer for a couple minutes then enjoy.
