I don't see fitch beating GSP because at this point GSP's just on another level, but you're probably right,of all the guys that are left @170 fitch is probably the best bet to pose any problem......

I'd like to see GSP and Silva soon even if it's at a catch weight

Yeah...now THAT would be a KICK ASS fight.

I think Silva wins it though pretty convincingly

hypothetically if GSP does choose to vacate 170 ((which I think he will before long) I could see Diego Sanchez moving into the top spot and staying there for awhile along with fitch....

stylewise right now I don't think Sanchez matches up in favor with GSP

Fitch has heavier hands than Kos, and Kos has already beaten Diego.  GSP is an UNREAL athlete who takes down strikers, and who kills wrestlers on his feet.  BJ will beat him.

GSP also takes down wrestlers...he beat Kos not by striking, but by superior wrestling  :o

I like Kos, but that fight with Diego was pretty lame looking back on it now

you saying BJ would beat GSP or Fitch right now? I like him against either, but I'm a big BJ fan

Yes.  BJ has been man handling Pablo Papovitch, Urijah Faber and Gray Maynard in his training camp.  He looks to be in great shape, and will give Sherk a serious lesson.  BJ was able to effectively strike against GSP in their first fight, fight off the takedown until the late second round and nearly got a gogoplata against GSP off his back.  A motivated BJ, in shape BJ can beat nearly anyone from 155-185.

the thing I like about george is that on any given night the guy can fight "the perfect fight" and beat just about anyone you could imagine him in there with and on any given night he can fight the wrong fight and be taken out by someone that's just "average".....

it keeps things interesting

GSP will beat Fitch.  Fitch hasn't finished 1/2 of his fights.  Usually if he does finish a fight, the guy in one-dimensional!

I think Jake Shields name should be up there too, he is on a 9 fight win streak and hasn't lost in 4 years, he has wins over the likes of Fitch,Condit,Okami and Charuto.  Maybe Dana will grow a backbone and accept challenges from other org's, I know Jake's been calling out GSP for a while now.  I'm not saying he'd win, but he would definately be a tough test.

...on any given night he can fight the wrong fight and be taken out by someone that's just "average".....

As if.  Lost to the most dominant welterweight ever in UFC, then destroyed him twice.  Lost to a #1 contender,  and put on a clinic in the rematch.  I've seen many of GSP/Serra's peers picking Serra in 2nd bout.  I'm not gonna regurgitate a list of thier accomplishments, but to say that Hughes or Serra is average is crazy.  GSP dominated both of them.

IMO, there's nobody at 170 that can touch GSP.  Others may have longs win streaks, but the level of competition is not even close.  Pretty much all of GPS's fights have been against top 10.  Most exciting fighter in the game.  Every fight he's had in any org. has been very good.  He's always active.

It was also mentioned on one of the UFC's that GSP's wrestling skills have improved so much, from wrestling with olympians that they wanted him to try out for the olympic team. He killed Matt Hughes in wrestling (which is Hughes bread and butter).
