What took so long?  He was history right after they signed Duckett and Julius Jones.

He'll get picked up by someone. He's 31 years old this season so it's doubtful he'll get signed for a contract longer than 2 years.

His days as a feature back are pretty much over though, one would think....

Westbrook and Alexander in the same backfield would be terrifying. Mcnabb just needs someone to throw to.

He claims that Indy and NE are interested.

I don't think he's worth shit as a running back anymore. He is absolutely on the decline. Never had good speed to begin with. He's a very patient runner who relies on cutbacks and holes to open up. Foot injuries have taken alot of his explosiveness through the hole. Now when he waits for holes to open up, defenders gang up on him quickly and he goes down for negative yardage a lot.

He's got a lot to prove to a team that's willing to sign him.

I think the Giants picked Ron Dayne over him.

Just 2 years ago. Those debates were during the offseason after the '05 season ended.

Doesn't run strong, likes to avoid contact versus bulldoze over defenders.  Not as quick with the feet, like Up said.

once we saw what Jones and Morris could do last season i think most people(and probably even he) knew he was gone.

I don't think he's worth shit as a running back anymore. He is absolutely on the decline. Never had good speed to begin with. He's a very patient runner who relies on cutbacks and holes to open up. this explains it perfect

It's a rarity in the NFL (or any pro sport, for that matter), but they're parting on good terms, which is good to see.

I'd like to see him in Oakland or maybe Philly, but hope he'll avoid talking with New England.

He'd be a bust in Oakland.  That would be a bad place for him.  Philly might be a good fit, he could spell Westbrook.  He needs a big strong fullback to lead the way.  He isn't as explosive at cutting back against the grain, and doesn't seem to get squared up with those offensive linemen pads he wears at the point of contact.  This contributes a lot to his negative yardage.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO SEE THAT..HIS PADS ARE HUGE FOR A RB...BUT PLAYERS HAVE TO WEAR WHAT MAKES THEM COMFORTABLE...I USED TO WEAR SHOCK PADS, A MC DAVID COWBOY COLLAR AND INVADER PADS...I FELT NOTHING....
