i really enjoy lifting weights and try to eat/live well. i train 4 - 6 time a week. But i dont think of myself as a "bodybuilder" at all. Having said that, i train because it makes me feel good, its as simple as that

Bodybuilding for me is about trying to attain physical and visual perfection. To become the most perfectly muscular-developed man in the history of the world.

If you strict yourself to a bber life style, and I am not talking about drugs, one can become a very functional (physicaly speaking) person. Strengthning your body gives you immense physical possibilities, because a stable basis was created, whther you want to box, swim, ride, etc, etc. Then, it also comes the cognitive aspect, that is the search for the best information about nutrition, training, etc, that can be very valuable to avoid some diseases for instance. Competitive bbing, now that's another completely different game...

It's a lifestyle but not my end all.I get lazy and take breaks here and there but I always come back to it.
I could never be a home gym guy.even though when I work out I have my ipod as loud as possible and pretty much ignore everyone around me.I need to be at a gym with people around me.
Every girlfriend I've had I've always made it perfectly clear to her that me not lifting is not negotiable.

Trying to get as close a possible to taking 10 grams a week. ;D Howie, I think that applys to just about everything in life, but yes it's about personal transformation AND about trying to harness this discipline that we use for BB and using it in other areas of life as well.

This is spot on for me as well. Bodybuilding as in working out, can teach you many different values in life, discipline, pride, respect.
Bodybuilding as a living or "sport" is another animal, with everyone going above and beyond what most average gym rats are willing to sacrifice.

picking up chicks!
I went to a cook out with the wife and kids the other day, and when we showed up one of the people there said I looked like I had been working out alot, he then asked if I was doing it for a particular purpose, I said " Just to pick up Chicks" My wife did not think that was funny ;D
