2)Every judge I use has competed before...here at 1999 Collegaite Scholarships BB Championships...where I awarded 5K in scholarships

Some ore superb guest shots of Robby at my show...
-
i bet he is clean in those pics. ...
-
1)Robby and Russ, after guest posing
2) I had paintings commissioned by noted artist, David Cain, presented as gifts to Robby and Russ for their inspiration to me and others, and for their contributions to the sport...Said Russ..."Mike Dusa should run for Governor..." countered Robby..."No...for President..."... :) ;D :)
3) Joking with the guys on stage-it was surreal for me
4) Robby being very kind and feigning being impressed by my bideps offering
-

Yes, he could have been, Jaejonna...
-
1) first photo ever taken of me at 15...I was 154 lbs, on deck of parents pool
2) Robby hittin' it at his camp!
3) I wanted to compare my gargantuan bi with RR's...he thought it funny to put his IN BACK of mine, thus making my arm look like his vein...!
4) One of the most impressive Robby shots I have....
-
1) me at 16 in my first show...shows why one should never get bummed out and rfelax all muscles when you stand next to Teenaged Mr. USA :)
2) Back shot of me at 16 same show
3) Man-boy Jeff King Winning and vanquishing all...I did not place- he was nearly 100 pounds heavier than me! He even beat all the men in the open that day. My mother even recalls him from 28 years ago...sometimes she still asks me, "Michael, what ever happened to that young boy with those enormous thighs? :D
4) This guy is Robby Colacino, from East haven, CT. He won the NABBA USA, and did very well in NPC National comps...took 4th in the NPC Jr. USA...
-
Jeff had a great physique, trained here in town under George Turner for awhile.
-
1) me at 36-ab shot, took 3rd in Mr. CT after winning the Open CT 5 years earlier! Never could get as hard as when I was younger...oh well...maybe when I am older and go on HRT!
2)Janet tech was the guest poser at this show I did in 1989...PJ was $4, Nite show admission was $7...believe that??
3) Classic case of Mike Dusa suicide canyon dieting....I was much better one week prior to placing 2nd in Collegiate Illinois (I won it the following year)...but got fancy on the diet at last minute and royally f----- up!
4) same...
-
Correction...in first photo above...3rd in Master's CT after winning open CT 5 years prior!

Squad...great guy and great physique.
If he had went the Weider route, he could have been a great, great spokesman...good looking, articulate, nice to everyone.
You in Penna, then?

no i'm in St. Louis, George Turner trained a lot of pros from the 70's and 80's at his gyms here, Jeff King, Tony Pearson, Ken Waller, etc.

Fantastic pics!!!!!
The Beef

1) Still bothers me to this day that I wrecked about 7 pounds of muscle in one week....
2) Winning the Collegiate Ill-one of my fondest stage memories-far from home and all my classmates there...after always wondering why I trained and dieted so hard...afterwards they all wanted to join me...
3) Gregory Hines, Terry McIntyre in my Collegiate show-overcame severe neuro deficit to compete, me-Greg did me a favor and I only paid his hotel , food and airfare...no fee to appear at show...was coolest of all luminaries...funny thing was when I was driving him back to train station...he wanted to get off in a very bad, and I mean very bad, section of New Haven...I asked, "Greg...are you SURE you want me to let you off here?...", he was like..."Hell, man...it's kool...I've got me a lady here..." and off he went into the dark New Haven nite. I was only relieved for his safety when I saw him three days later on the Rosie O'Donell show (it may have been Roseanne show)...funny...he was wearing the same outfit on her show that he did on mine...great guy...pity he passed.
4) Me and Gregory onstage

;D
Ha! Yes, Candi...I see it! Great!
Baker did get really burned in his career---squeaky wheel gets the boot to his ass....
-
You bastard :D
Well, he's right...don't know how I ended up with that kind of grip on Baker's hand...do recall he was in a hurry...just glad I got the pic
-
Like I said, Robby had the BEST double bi shot I have ever seen on person, and if you look at his lef arm here you can see why!
The most perectly balanced arms in BBing history.
Robby's biceps are both the exact same in size, shape and peak, which I have not really seen before.

Moosejay, your pictures are awesome. I've enjoyed looking at a slice of bodybuilding photo history. I have a degree in history and I never once considered doing any research on bodybuilding. I should have. It has a rich and treasured history.

1) Robby Archer Pose
2) Kenny Cassell and Sue Stivalo-I really only prefer to promote male bb...no offense to anyone-but I am nothing of the PC crowd...anyway...I have always had trouble attracting figure girls...Kenny told me, "Michael...its really quite simple...just go to strip clubs...get those girls to strut on your stage...its pretty much the same thing...
3) Guest Poser Ray Johannes and New haven Cop...Ray is about 50 now and still looks great...placed high in Bantam Jr. USA back in early 80's, is currently WNBF pro...always comes in shape, as is his honor
-
Hey Archer. Thanks for your kind words. I love this stuff, too. When I was a kid...I just somehow knew itv was very important to photograph everything. I have a very extensive Eugen Sandow collection of his effects. When I retire (or quit doing what I now do for money...one never really 'retires')...that is more like dying...I'd like to write another book focusing on this type of stuff//...cheers...
-
WOW-she is very sexy!...that is a woman!
I'd fuck her silly for days..... ::) Can you imagine those sexy legs up close and personal??? Yummy!
-
1) Pat Aylward...he won my Collegaite show two years running...1999 and 2000...and won scholarships each time. I think he was one of the best collegiate bb's I had ever seen..and I myself went in the Collegiate America (pre Collegiate Nats) and stood next to and saw the best...wonder how he is now...?
2) Robby hitting it in the audience...much to their delight...
Okay, everyone...all I can do for today...have much more and I promise I will acquiesce to your many individual requests...but gotta stop now...rest
Also, thanks to Bob Gruskin...he always comes to my shows and shoots the best photos...charging me nothing and always giving me a complete set of them....

She is quite attractive and very nice, too...unlike some of these premadonna figure girls I have had to deal with...believe me...in most cases it ain't worth the effort...
-
most those girls are the most insecure girls on the planet.. put em in line !!

You are not kidding and I see that coming each year. I actually fired one of my employees because he let his duties slide to go 'help' a figure girl with some nonsense she allured him with.
Look...I love beautiful women.
However...
When it come to responsibilities to others and MY BUSINESS...well...THAT is when I am IMPERVIOUS to the powers of the puss...
The true mark of a strong man...being impervious to this as I stated above.
Mike Katz has neck problems where he cannot really turn his head on his neck easily.
I am more fiery with the figure girls...Mike is more...umm...undertsandi ng.
We had one beautiful girl from NY a few years ago...she was nothing but problems...was late on the train.,..did not bring a posing suit...blah blah blah...and my idiot assistant actully brought her back to his condo to 'practice her routine' or some stupid s---...he got fired...when I called her on her behavior...she actually said to me and Mike Katz..."well, I AM doing you a favor by being here..."just before I was able to destroy her and dismiss her tiny a-- from the show, Big Mike SUDDENLY regained all the neck rotation he had lost while playing football for the Jets, looked at her, and "Took her down to Chinatown..." :)
-
Addendum to above post: I found out she really came to the show toi meet one of our sponsors and trophy presenters...none other than Rich Gaspari...and he BLEW her off
Rich, too , is impervious to the powers of the puss...at least this day he was!
-

good thoughts moose.
yes, it can e otugh at times, for me t least, but then i always remidn myself that they are more caught up being self concious than judging me..which makes it easy to talk freely and funny cuz i can see them "watching themselves" 8)

Yes..EXACTLY!
Me, though...I guess I am getting to old to expend energy with High Maintenance women...I dated one recently who literally said to me..."I am high maintenance"...I LITERALLY walked out of her house and never saw her again... :)

Dude...I think back to this and still laugh.
She said this when we were laying in the rack.
Well...I got all quiet...thinking about it.
She fell asleep.
I got up...quietly.
Got a drink of juice from her fridge...
Put my clothes on, left her house, went to mine...and never went back.
And that's all I have to say about that... :)

Yes....exactly what he was. He was incredible indeed.
We had a running joke with him the two years I worked with him...anyone in our group would ask Robby..."Robby...how do you train...do you train hard...?
"Man...I train SO HARD..." would always be his reply...no matter how many times we'd ask him.
It was the way he would say it...as though he'd cry or wishing that you could see him train to believe it.
Hadda be there...but it was classic.

Jeff had a great physique, trained here in town under George Turner for awhile.

He still flies Russ to the Arnold Classic each year...

I sure do...he was the first guy ever saw doing the "robot" style routines. I remember him from competing as well, actually , he was pretty good...
-
Yeah...he never went in many shows. Still lives in Troy, NY. He did my posing routine for me when I did Master's Nationals a few years back.
Still looks hard as a rock...he always said he'd compete again if bb got in the Olympics.
-
Great pictures. Thanks for more great posts!

Hey Tim.
Yes...Ray Wlson used to Train at Zak's gym in Hartford...never competed with him, though.
Pat Hayes...well, the first show I went in...the 1980 Teen Northeastern America...Pat was in the men's class...put it this way...we were in neighboring urinals and I think I saw him piss blood...he said, "Kid...its all part of the game..." or something like that...but it was actually from a back injury he sustained
Some of the names from the enfield crew stimulate my memory...but I was always with Katz down in New Haven area
-
Hayes used a ton of juice.............first guy I ever met that took D-Bol ............this was at the Springfield YMCA in the mid 70`s.
I knew Zak Nathan also, before he opened his gym in Ct. he trained at Central City which was owned by Roger Aiudi also originally from Ct.
Ray Wilson moved out to the midwest somewhere..........Natur al O could tell you.
I have pics of these guys on my forum.

That one from the Midwest contest was the one I remember seeing before. Check out that V-taper and those legs! Thanks Bix!
-
Thanks Bixter!
-
Yeah Tim...Hayes was known for heavy juice...Zak was an absolute giant when he competed. I will never forget when we were competing in the teenaged division of the Mr. CT at Oakdale theater and Zak was conducting the weigh-in for my Tall class teen...Rob Colacino (Before he got into great shape) was next to be weighed, and Zak said to him, "Get on the scale, Fatso..."

Epic holding of hands in the first pose!
You don't see Big Ron Avidan holding hands like that with bodybuilders!
Did you need to brace yourself on Bakers hand due to a leg-injury or?
