17.50! Damn!
I haven't been for 3 or 4 years, but i might go along just for the pre-judging.

Dread,
Yeah, not cheap mate but it's the biggest show of the year so f*k it, ya gotta go! It ain't cheap putting on a proper comp either, so fair play, the promoter has to at least clear the costs.
Anyway, there's a fair few of us heading down, if ya see anyone in a "Highlandmuscle.com" T-shirt say hello!
Cheers,
G

Is that William Wallace?
-
No, that's Stephen Sinton, the show promoter and a damn good bodybuilder.
-
Too far for me to travel unfortunately but if I still lived in Scotland I would definitely have gone. Expensive tickets though - most of the NABBA shows down here in the Midlands are £10 to get in.
-
Christ mate, can't be sure but iirc it's been over a tenner for years up here! All day ticket mind you, seperate "evening show only" tickets no longer exist.
I'm sure if they could guarantee a full house the price could come down a bit but sadly not enough bods go to shows up here...hopefully this years champs will mark a move towards a bigger attendance?
tbh I couldn't care less - if the shows are to go ahead they have to be supported and that means buying a ticket and showing up; so it's cool that you go to the midlands based ones.
Any other Scots here?

Are you any relation to Duncan Laird or his son Stevie (Jr Mr Scotland 1980) ?
I competed in the NABBA Scottish more times than I can count when it was at Portobello town hall. Novice, Mr, Senior... got a couple of senior runner up positions but Mickey Baird usually beat me.
-
Did you threaten him with violence after he beat you? Same way you threatened the likes of Yates and Ferrigno? ::)

thats not steph sinton.....

I've heard the show was pretty good when it was held at Portobello, good atmosphere and well put on. I went a few times when it moved to Glenrothes and have attended one of the Edinburgh shows but i've been told a few times Portobello was better.

Ahhhhhhhhh, i'm pretty sure that's william wallace!

I went to the NABBA Scotland at the Portabello theatre maybe 30 years in a row. I placed in the top three masters from 1981 to 86 then switched to the Natural British federation. It was a great event and guset poseurs included Bill Grant, Terry Philips and Ed Kawak.

I'm in remission but am surviving better than I thought. January to April were hell with the Chemo but it seems to be working. If I live out this year it will be a miracle because there is no further treatment for me. It is now in the lap of the gods. I would go to the NABBA Scottish tomorrow and the Rangers v Celtic game today but I can't risk gettting any bugs because my immune system is shot.

I was runner up in the over 40's masters I think 1983 or 84. The runner up in the Junior category was Tony Fransis who won the NABBA Universe a couple of years later.
